I use windows vista-based Windows 2k8 server and don't have much complaints so far. Ubuntu on my laptop gives me so much more troubles... I still can't configure ad-hoc wifi connection so that I could connect my DS to internet like I do in windows. And wine does not allow me to change codepage when I have english locale (I want wine applications to show russian text corectly, it's not that much, is it?). Google can't help Looks like I suck at googling for help but for now ubuntu is much more of hassle than 2k8 is.

KLite mega codec pack would solce all your problems =) But winamp is still one of the worst video players. Works perfectly fne for audio though.

mkvmerge accepts cue and txt as a chapter file... so far, easiest way I see is:
CHAPTER01=00:00:00.000
CHAPTER01NAME=Intro
CHAPTER02=00:00:30.000
CHAPTER02NAME=Level 1
CHAPTER03=00:00:41.300
CHAPTER03NAME=Level 1 BOSS
CHAPTER03=00:00:47.600
CHAPTER03NAME=Level 2
mmg can open those in editor too. Simple converter from
00:00:00.000 Intro
00:00:30.000 Level 1
00:00:41.300 Level 1 BOSS
00:00:47:600 Level 2
to first example can be easily made. KMPlayer subchapter bug confirmed :( but I accidentally confirmed that it can "open" cue files by parsing them and creating playlist :o

the only way I know is not any simple =( you play movie to the frame you need, pause, stop playback, create new movie from savestate, play one frame with whatever input you like, save movie, open it and first movie with any movie editor (Maximus's or mine or whichever else) and copypaste frames from original movie to cut one starting from frame where you saved.

same movie plays differently on different emulators sometimes... same movie plays differently on different versions of the same emulator sometimes... same movie plays differently on the same version o an emulator on different PCs sometimes... and you still expect it to work on real hardware?..

TAS was done well, it's the game that sucks. Boring combos and pure repeatitiveness as it is. So, I dunno what should I vote for...

If you want line numbers simply open the .fm2 with a code editing program (such as notepad++).
include header height and some additional data like resets that adds one more line... >.<

Just read FM2 specs, I kinda like it. Reminded me of file formats my editors used. However, I might miss it, but looks like it does not have frame numbers anywhere - it makes looking for frames harder. You could add some symbol that workd as "start comment" or "end comment beginning in the start of line" and add comment with frame number every 100th frame. Just a thought. it also may already be in there, I did not download and try, sorry :3 Also, movies are going to be much bigged in size. how about compressed movie format support? FMZ for example. For final versions etc. P.S.: You made my puzzled avatar outdated...

I am playing through this game once again... I know that double(quadriple) jump bug that can be used to skip first boss (whole map in fact), but later on I still have to get pushing skill that lays behind that thing or else I can't get toad morph... Also there's reward glitch that can be used to make quick money and raise some stats, But it's of no use in terms of making path shorter... Is there a real sequence break possibility in PoR?.. I could not find topic on this game, if there is one - delete this thread and give me link in IRC please :)

If game sequels are okay, then Pool shark 2 takes first place for sure.

mz, when you feel bored you can try adding rerecording to latest DeSmuMe ^.^ I kinda feel too lazy to redo all the work for latest release, on 0.7.2 it did not sync after rerecording (saves were imperfect and I could not do anything about that). I know it does not emulate at full speed, but we don't need it... All we need are rerecording features and movie output :3

And while this topic is revived - TAS of Fury of the furries would definitely rock.
