bizhawk cannot be updated with a newer libsnes, as newer libsnes is incompatible with tasing and our libsnes is already heavily customized. Why do you need a newer libsnes?

sounds pretty confidently like a bug in the cx4's savestate. thats never a surprise with the bsnes core. I dont know how long it takes you to do that much playing through the game, but if you could make it that far (fast forwarding the bkm) and then spam save/loadstate a lot when the glitchy art is on screen (or just before that screen loads) and make it actually glitch, then that would seal the deal. that's what I'll be doing first to debug it anyway. can you post the bkm?

can you get this to happen if you play the game from a fresh boot with no savestates and rewind disabled? That will tell whether it is a savestate bug (more likely than a core emulation bug)

bizhawk's "setup" is a "prerequisite" installer, not an installer, meaning it installs everything you need to run bizhawk, but not bizhawk itself, which you must download separately.

.net chooses when to hold onto memory and when to release it, not us. and holding onto memory doesnt make a computer BSOD. I suggest you switch to the gdi display method in bizhawk or upgrade or downgrade your video drivers.

BH will crash your computer? or the BH process will crash? because if BH crashes your computer, its some driver's fault and not ours.

i think this emulator lacks a way to load serial data, which is the format you can find interesting games in. before you waste any time here, you should try some other TI emulators to get some situational awareness and discover what bizhawk's TI core is lacking so you can decide if its worth proceeding.

i believe the snes core in the last release is unstable. it's been fixed since then.

its packed in the right folder. the problem here is with your computer which is unable to load dlls from the right folder. we havent figured out why some computers have this problem yet. can you dearchive it from scratch again and move the dlls one by one until you figure out which one (or several) it is that need to be in the bizhawk main directory? Also, could you try dearchiving it from scratch and running it with any security or antivirus disabled? Those could potentially be interfering with the dll loading process.

Because something in the thousand hours of work that went into bizhawk between 1.0.4a and 1.4.0 isn't playing quite right with your computer. Did you try the ideas mentioned in this thread about moving files around from the dll folder?

you didnt think of it sooner, because it shouldn't be necessary. the dlls were put in a location that we considered at length and took pains to ensure worked. can you tell us the path youre using to run bizhawk out of? could you try dearchiving a fresh bizhawk to c:\bizhawk and see if it works with all the junk still in c:\bizhawk\dll ?

that's the link to use for feos's latest build. im not sure who else makes relatively recent builds. just because I say something is fixed in rXXXX doesnt mean anyone made a build for you. check the version on bizhawk.multiclient.exe from feos's site. the file version is X.X.X.4053 meaning its based on r4053. you cant always count on this working, but it works for bizhawk cos we set it up. you can see whats been going on in the source code lately at http://code.google.com/p/bizhawk/source/list

found something flaky. should be fixed in r4110. not exactly what you described, but it was definitely the problem you were having

' what are your scanline/refresh options for the snes gfx debugger tool when this is happening? can you change those and get different results? are you 100% sure its related to whether the emulator is running or paused? the windows clipboard will routinely malfunction in much that way if youre using ati video drivers or if you have too many windows open. try closing some apps and checking again.

works fine for me when the emulator is paused. does the confirmation message fail to appear, or does the bitmap just fail to make it to the clipboard?

in recent svn versions, sprite visualization is roughly in. still need a way to toggle them.

you dont happen to have visual studio installed, do you? also check eventviewer for messages in the application log related to these broken attempts to start programs. i am particularly interested in discohawk, as it is failing to run and has far fewer requirements and therefore fewer things that could be going wrong. Finally, try turning off your virus scanners and security software which may be interfering with the crapton of unmanaged core dlls we're trying to load now. Those might get loaded by discohawk..... which annoys me, if so.

maybe possible, but it's absolute lowest priority as it's a ton of work.

Found another bug. When attempting to import an FM2 file, I get the error message, "File is in use by another program." This only occurs when the FM2 exists in the same folder that the BKM files go into. If the FM2 is outside that Movies folder, then the conversion works just fine.
should be fixed in r4039

I suggest you consult the vendor of your screen capturing software, or at the very least, tell us which screen capturing software that is. I would guess it is due to the alpha channel we use in our output and a bug in the capturing software which causes the alpha to get composited with pink.

thats not a bad idea, but i'm afraid the competing idea of a tuna with a beak is pretty irresistable.
