Blues Brothers 2000 is a cool game on the N64. I think it would be good for a speedrun, so I might make it. Anyway, does anyone agree?

I just remember about some of the first stage, collecting items, etc... I don't know about any glitch. Does Mupen handle it?

Yes, like every other N64 game, it is a so-called "collect-a-thon game"; and it looks like Mupen can handle it very well. Anyway, I just posted to ask Kitsune to read this:

You're just fucking stupid, everyone hates you, sorry to tell you the truth. no one likes you, you're someone pretentious and TASes only to be on speed game, but don't have any hope, you won't get there.

Nope, I was just trying to make you think. I've had some of my on-topic discussions moved to Off topic by moderators just because they didn't like them, but they don't give a shit about you posting everywhere "Oh, I lost my virginity to my brother while we were playing this game as a kid. I hope you make a 100% TAS of it." So, please, at least try to auto-moderate yourself. Don't do it for me or for any other member, but for the future generations that will read these threads in search of useful information.

Just wondering if any work has been started on a TAS for this game.

I was thinking of doing a test run for "World 1", at least. There's the issue of graphics plugins though: Glide64 emulates everything perfectly, but I don't think the TAS input plugin works in the plugin's required fullscreen mode. However, glN64 runs with only minor graphical issues (ex: the background of the title screen), and it's possible to window the game so I can use the TAS input plugin, so I think that would be the best plugin to use. EDIT: Well, I've decided to work on my other projects instead. Someone else can work on this if they want to.

*bump* @NitroGenesis Do you plan on picking this game back up? Because I recently bought the cart on ebay and might post a WIP myself here in the near future. EDIT: I thought I'd include that part about buying the cart. I realize that WIPs need to be made on an emulator, just so I don't come off as a newbie lol.

If he's not, then good luck on your WIP(s)! I'll be watching for them and provide feedback when I can.

Thanks! Yeah I just got the game in the mail a few days ago. It's going to be hard to optimize lol. Anyway, I should be posting a WIP here in the next few days, if not some time in the next week or so.

Well it turns out this game will definitely be harder to optimize than I thought. However, I still plan on posting a WIP here eventually, for those of you who are interested.

I'm interested, but does this mean you're not planning on making a full run after all?

It depends on whether people are interested in seeing a submission of this game or not. If so, than I plan on making a run. However, no one seems to shows any interest in this game. I'll probably need some help down the road, so you'll be the first person I contact :)

I sure would like to see this game TASed! I'll do what I can to help, but I don't have experience with using memory addresses in 3D space. Good to know! I'll be here to provide help. :)

Just looked at some game play of this, and it's possible that a TAS of this will be really entertaining. Definitely looking forward to WIPs.

Just looked at reviews of this game and they average at about 4/4.5 out of 10 lol. But glad to hear you're interested! However, I'm having a lot of desynce issues with Mupen. The desynces usually occur after I replay the movie, sadly. If anyone can help me with that, I'd really appreciate it!

That's just Mupen being Mupen sadly. All you can do is redo those segments until they sync on playback. (By that I mean change timing of your actions, trying a slightly different angle etc)

I might try my luck with the 1964 emulator, but regardless I'll keep you guys posted.

Well, you have to use Mupen if you want to TAS.

I thought someone posted in the N64 emulator thread that 1964 has TASing abilities now? Might've been a misread on my part.

Well, I thought so at first, but I've recently become busy with a lot of stuff (school, work, etc.). So if you want, I'm officially passing this off to you, CoolKirby. Haha, I'm more than happy to give my input on WIPs, helpful suggestions, and stuff like that. But, currently I don't have the time to TAS this game. I say this because I don't want to start a project and drag it out forever. Good luck if you decide to pick this up, man!

Okay, thanks! I'll let you know if I decide to pick this up. I've never TASed a 3D game with this kind of freedom of movement and I'm pretty busy myself but I might be able to!

Haha good to know! I do have an idea for the 2nd/3rd room (can't remember which off the top of my head): Go into the room and break open the closest vent and go inside. Afterwards, it might be possible to jump from window seal to window seal without having to go back down and break the other vents. Just a thought ;)
