KPM: you got lucky in that thread. Several threads in that forum are actively... "policed"... by some hackers that add thousands and thousands of embeds to videos, causing browsers to use up all available RAM and swap space to the point where you need to forcibly reboot the computer*. Seriously, avoid the "ASM Programming" subforum there unless you want to reboot. * Unless you are on a Unix-based OS and know how to switch to the terminal to kill the flash plug-in processes.

marzojr found a bit disappointing shortcut in my Sonic 3 and Amy TAS; it’s disappointing because if I add his trick, another very entertaining trick has to be avoided. But I’m still glad he found an improvement. So, new preview is to come soon (I hope).

Limiting the max virtual size of the process would be a good solution. Limiting the resident size would be even better, but, as far as I know, it’s impossible, since ulimit -m has no effect on recent Linux kernels. Having htop always running on one of your consoles is also a good idea.

I understood you perfectly well; you missed my point: I am saying that browsing in that forum is dangerous. Green Snake and others prowl there, and make posts with thousands of video embeds; just by opening the "wrong" thread you can suffer greatly.

Here is a great improvement of mine and feeuzz’s well-known run of Sonic the Hedgehog Tribute. Link to video We still have some ideas on possible improvements, especially in SPZ1 and URZ1, which worth some testing. In theory they could make the results even better.

http://darkon360.weebly.com/metal-sonic-hyperdrive.html I happened to find this hack, called Metal Sonic Hyperdrive. The final version was released just a month ago. I think this can make a great TAS. Have someone taken a look at this?

I have finally decided to TAS S2: Master Edition 3. In this video, I achieve 0:45 in Emerald Hill Zone act 1. Optimization is possible, but I highly doubt I'll be optimizing this run because I'm happy with it already. Link to video

-_- I had a weird dream a few hours ago. I was walking on nothing, and my friend told me I had a slope glitch. IRL, I mean. Have no idea who was that friend though — maybe feeuzz, but I’m not sure. Btw, I wasn’t Sonic, I was myself. For some reason, TAS-related dreams visit me way too often -_-

Made a TAS on Chemical Plant Zone act 1 in Sonic 2: Master Edition 3. Sloppy, but entertaining. Link to video

Very impressive, especially the boss fight. I also loved the braking sound while Sonic was ducking. I TASed the first three acts of S3&K Master Edition 2 just a few days ago, still need to upload it. By the way, anypony knows how to luck-manipulate AIZ2 boss? I spend more than a minute beating that guy. (upd) testrun of the first three acts Link to video

My last time on AIZ1 (S3&K ME2) is 1:00.12, almost 0:59, but it’s already quite well optimized, I’m going to try making it in 0:59, and show if I succeed :)
