Post subject: tasEdit.exe Help

If this forum is not for asking questions, feel free to move it. Anyway... I have a problem with Tas Edit (Not the movie editor). When I open up any file, it only let's me save as FCM files when I need to save it as a different type of file. I've tried going to the window where you can save the file, and tried renaming it to <name>.<extension>, but that didn't work. It sill tried to save as a FCM file. Help? EDIT: In case you don't understand what I'm trying to tell you, here are some pictures: (Sorry about the gargantuan pictures :P )

Why don't you use TASMovie Editor? Also, I think your problem is that you are trying to convert an input file from some emulator to another type. I'm not sure if that is even possible.

Oh, ok. Maybe you should try to record a smv file and try to see if the editor will allow you to save as such?

In what way does it not work? I used it fairly extensively during some work on Super Mario World: The Second Reality Project Reloaded, and it worked just fine for me.

In TASMovie Editor, you seem to be only pressing the start button. And on the Snes9x, it says unsupported movie version. So I think you should redo runs, as they seem to be corrupt.

I've had similar problems with TASMovie Editor, and it has nothing to do with corruption of movies. In the end, the only thing that worked for me was JXQs Quick Hex. TASMovie Editor just ended up inserting utter garbage into my movie files. It seemed to depend on the game though, so I think it has some problems with reading ROM headers. As for the original problem: I can't help you with that, sorry.

@ jlun2: I use Snes9x 1.52, and it's not compatible with the movies made by Snes9x 1.51 or lower, and vice-versa. But the movie editor can still edit those. I'll remake one with Snes9x 1.43. EDIT: Errrrr... I did it with version 1.43, and it worked, so... It's solved. *slaps himself across the face* I am SUCH a n00b. :P
