Amazing work, Team 5! The final run looks fantastic. No idea you could eat the 1-2 boss's head like that, stellar manipulation throughout, great stuff.
(About being out of contact: My modem went kaput last week, so I've been away from the internet. I had no run to give anyway, and I haven't talked to either of my teammates in a couple weeks. This explains the lack of team 6 entry.)
Do we get to know what the other games you were considering, Truncated? I just want to know for curiosity's sake.
I have considered it but not made up my mind. What do people think?
Pros:
- People can find games worth making runs of outside the competition.
- People are curious what games were suggested and it's nice to satisfy them.
Cons:
- It becomes harder to select a game for the next Dream Team contest, assuming the emulator is still going to be announced before the game. This is especially the case for emulators which only had 1 or 2 suggested games. I would hate it if one team won because they guessed the correct game and had a weeks headstart, and the other teams guessed incorrectly.
- More a personal thing, but people were going "this game sucks and I hate you" when I announced it, and I can do without a "you should have chosen game X instead!!!"-debate.

Something else, which I already said in IRC: I think team 5's movie is good enough to submit as it is. Of course if they or someone else wants to make an improved version, that is fine, but it's probably going to take a while.

Some suggestions were great, some were not so great. I narrowed it down to a list of 5 games, test played, watched youtube playthroughs, read FAQs etc. Of the top two contender games I had, one was too long (70 minutes regular playthrough), one had desynch issues, and the other suggestions were not as varied and interesting.
This comment, to me, suggests that: if they weren't good enough for this dream team contest due to various issues (length, variety, emulation), they probably wont meet the minimum criteria for the next one either.

Just give the names of a few games (so not all) you were considering but don't include any of the games you're considering for the next competition. Obviously, you can also announce that this is what you'll do, but add the game for the next competition. Anyone who has read this post will have no way to deduce what the next game may or may not be.
I haven't been involved in the contest or even following it especially closely, but before you think the support for revealing the other games is unanimous, I'd like to pipe in and say I think they should remain a secret. I really don't see what there is to gain from revealing them, plus next year's competition might be correspondingly weaker because there are fewer good games to choose from.
If you must tip your hand, just reveal one or two games that were never in close contention to be selected.
It was a shame our team had some communication problems, because I think we would have worked well together. I will admit I'd be interested to know what games were being considered during the selection process as I didn't have any great enthusiasm for the game considering there was very little in the way of glitch/strategy potential. I just wish there wasn't so much secrecy over game selection, just for the sake of being afraid of giving any team the upper hand.

Nope, Truncated. Don't ever dare to say what games are going to be selected.
People are gonna try to learn more about the games and the contest will be boring, with very similar results in the end.
