When I am going through google search results at around page 10 I start seeing links that I have already seen on a previous page. The same thing happens on youtube. Since google brags about finding thousands of search results on the top of the page you would think they wouldn't do this.

Google is secretly owned by Microsoft. It's no surprise their search sucks.

Now that you have divulged their secret, expect black helicopters and men in black at your house any time now.

It would be fun if the men themselves also were black.

I make a comic with no image files and you should read it. While there is a lower class, I am in it, and while there is a criminal element I am of it, and while there is a soul in prison, I am not free. -Eugene Debs

The porn on the first 9 pages wasn't good enough for you, and you thought it would get better by the double digits? Seriously, who goes past page two of a search engines results? If you haven't found it in the first 30 links, try a different phrase.

Some people recommend skipping the first few pages of results so that you jump over the "commercial garbage" (to keep it polite) that generally appears at the beginning. Although changing the search phrase might help with that, too (e.g., add site:edu to restrict results to university pages or -site:com to get rid of all sites ending in .com).

I think Google outright lies about the number of search results. Sometimes I try to access page 100 or some similar number by changing the URL accordingly just to see what sites are that far down in the results, and Google says there are no more results. This despite the reported hundreds of thousands or millions of results. Maybe it repeats results to just pad the numbers.

The reported amount of hits may be correct, but perhaps google will only send a limited amount results to the user to conserve resources or whatever.

On a similar note, who else here automatically sets up Google to deliver 100 results per page? less clicking needed
