Is there any reason why there isn't any time-attacks for this game? Cause I am trying to do my first nesvideo ever, a style demo where I don'¨t get hit, use items or any of the other persons except belmont. But is that a stupid idea for a demo, it is not really the fastest way. I guess it is mostly for myself too. :)

Okay, thanks. Now I dunno if I should keep working on my castlevania 3 run. But I don't know what games I should try for. Because I'd like to make a time-attack for a game, I know. Maybe a bucky o' hare or lolo3 time-attack?

I don't know about bucky (never seen that game), but I think lolo3 isn't very interesting. It's interesting to play, but watching it is just about as interesting as watching someone solve a maze.

It is a platform shooter a bit like Megaman and that kind. Here is some shots of it.

You can always try to improve/outdo an existing movie. I'd accept an improvement movie much more happily than another game-x-completed-flawlessly movie. Quality is more important than quantity.

Well I have a suggestion for you. There's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles you can do. Hint: Take you're time for this. It must be perfect even if it tooks 100 hours to do this one.

Yeah turtles is a prtty hard game and you must choose the fastest path possible. www.gamefaqs.com that may help you choosing the right path.

Hi folks, i was just wondering if you guys would like to see a run of Castlevania 3 in the future? I was thinking about a Sypha only run. Starting with her right away and use her through the entire game. Tell me what you think, is it a good or bad idea?

http://tasvideos.org/762M.html - Grant path http://tasvideos.org/763M.html - Sypha path http://tasvideos.org/764M.html - Alucard path Watch these first. This game hasn't been worked on for some time, so I suspect there may be improvements.

I´ve watched Sypha´s path, and yes the game has not been improved for years. I bet it can be improved, and i just might try it. But i was thinking about using a password which let´s me using Sypha right from the start. However, my first thought was just to try improve the current run so i might do that instead. I have not decided yet!

I'd like to actually see if there are a few new improvements to this game. It's been long enough. You should definitely improve the run, instead of using Sypha from the beginning, because that will siginificantly improve your chances of getting published. There are a few things I've noticed in the Grant and Alucard paths, but hose are too obvious to the common eye (e.g.) mine, for the original author not to have tried them.

I wouldn't use a password. For one, it might be noticeably slower in the long run. For two, it might be grounds for rejection based on the use of a password that does not unlock a NG+ mode.

There does exist a thread for Castlevania3 already. Find that. All of the Castlevania3 runs on tasvideos are improvable. I have a Grant wip that's about 70% done and over 10 seconds faster. I'll finish that..sometime..maybe. As for the Sypha run, I suggest you improve the current one, as that's pretty much your only chance of getting it published. Using a password is silly.
<adelikat> I've been quoted with worse

Link to video At the bottom of midscreen ladder turn into Grant and go down at once. After you appear in the room below, go up the endless ladder and you'll see the garbage level. Works probably anywhere, What do we do in such levels? Right, call profitable objects. Though I don't know the game and won't TAS it. Any thoughts? Shoot me if this was known here already.

12:29: Yup, you finally broked it. XD ...I always wondered what was in that lantern on the far right at the beginning of 4-A. I just never had Alucard with me during a second loop run to find out. Never had the patience to play that far in; I figured beating the game once was enough of a task. :p

As luck would have it, I'm in the process of making a Castlevania 3 Grant Run. I heard of the glitch before, but I've never seen it in action (nor bothered to really investigate it). I hope there's a way to abuse it to complete the game quickly, I'd be interested in doing a CV3 "glitched" TAS.

Comment from youtube: Thanks for the explanation! For those who don't know, you can also perform this glitch with Sypha by freezing an object right in front of stairs then climbing them. It may or may not save time in level 7 on her route...would be a very minor difference either way.
