Yeah, I'm having the same issue actually, I tried using this to run Symphony of the Night and there's no sound. I frankly have no idea what could be causing that.

It already was checked. Though I tried it again and the sound works now. Weird, the only setting I changed was switching the color depth to 32 bit and the display driver to the primary one. Thanks for the help.

No problem, also psxjin usually hangs time at some random occurrence not playing sound. This is usually rare (or constant depending on how you use psxjin).

Yes, it is dead. All PSX emulators currently used at TASVideos are dead.

Hard to say. PCSX-rr and PSXxjin are probably dead because the underlying core they use (PCSX) is not good enough to merit more work. Many of the other popular PSX cores are closed source. Maybe we'll be able to use the Mednafen core.

I'm not saying your problems don't have solutions or workarounds; they probably do, and PSXjin can operate well enough to do passable TASes of many games. I was just answering the "dead" question.

Keyboard does work, but that's not quite fun/effective for playstation games.
If the Keyboard work, you can use Joy2key. As for the PSX project been dead, I thought there were some people working on it at the BizHawk core, but this is probably going to be a long work in progress, before we get something here(actually I have no idea...) Thought, must problem asked here should have some sort of workaround, despite the game not been supported. If you can't run any game correctly, must likely that there something missing in your setting.

It doesn't seem abnormal. During lag frames, the game/emulator doesn't check your inputs and consider they are the same than the previous frame, so you must either adapt your inputs to these lag frames, or find a way to avoid these lag frames.

What I am saying is that it's not an emulation glitch. The lag frames work the same way in all emulators.

I'm having some serious issues with 2.0.2. sv1, especially where Dual Shock emulation and SRAM are concerned. I have used a verification movie to clear all the Practice mode areas of Metal Gear Solid: VR Missions (since they're almost identical to the later Time Attack modes) and then attempted to create an SRAM movie with the memory card after saving it. When using SRAM and having Dual Shock Emulation checked, the movie will do one of two things: crash when attempting to replay it, or desync within the first 2000 frames. Every time.

Through further testing I've managed to narrow down the problem. It's the specific combination of Dual Analog and SRAM that causes the crash. Dual Analog on a clean memory card does not cause a crash. Actually, make that ANY type of SRAM movie with Metal Gear Solid: VR Missions [SLUS-00957] Regardless, someone get on this ASAP ;_;

Great... I don't know what happened to my original response when you mentioned this. Okay, the issue is when you constantly have the program up and running and you keep rebooting a new disk into it the audio part crashes this is a minor bug and the fix is just to restart psxjin.

As long as the game emulates correctly: No. Check the PSX Final Fantasy threads for help on how to handle the disc switch if you have any problems.

The sound issue described 4 posts above is likely because states are broken in movies, and remember using dirty sram isnt automaticly allowed for submission, use at own risks. Edit: Ok the code is fixed, r726 now is available and you can compile it to get psxjin to create correctly a movie with embeded state, or wait for release ... (a few smalls but yet nice core fix are already available on the svn)

It says that I saved a state there, but it looks so small that I have trouble reading it. Is there not a way to make the green text stuff bigger? (I circled it in red for easier visualization).
