Since I can't seem to reply on Youtube atm for some reason, can I ask will you ever submit the runs to SDA?
I currently don't have any plans of doing that. I would probably have to use an S-video cable to get the run on SDA, so I'd have to buy that before I could think about submitting a run.

Edit: I forgot to mention this, but the .dtm syncs fine if you don't load a savestate during the movie. If you made a savestate during the battle, closed game, played back the dtm, and reload the state, there's a high chance the boss behaves slightly differently.
It seems the latest Dolphin release has fixed this problem, so now it reliably syncs if you made a savestate during playback! Anyways, it seems possible to hit 2 buttons at once: Link to video Sorry for the crap quality; my internet is capped. :/

How possible is that to do non-TAS? I was trying this a while back and it never worked...

Crazy new trick: Link to video So far, these light towers are the only known places we can activate this... Goo Lagoon backwards saves around a minute non-TAS. I don't think it'd be useful in a TAS though.

I got a question. How would the route change in a TAS if Goo Lagoon was done after you get bubble bowl? Also, in downtown Bikini Bottom, can you go OoB at the lighthouse to skip most of that section as soon as you get the sock?

Yeah, my guess is that we would fight sandy before going to GL and then BBB to the island in a TAS. Also, I'm not really sure what you're asking... but if there is an oob in the lighthouse that I didn't know about, then I am very angry no one told me about it!

I'm not sure if this is worth it or not, but I was messing around, and came across something. After double jumping as SS, I midair attacked and immediately after, I was able to do his bubble jump. I could jump a second time and attacked but I'm not sure if it's endless. I managed to do it twice, but it's almost impossible to do real-time. I don't know if this is a TAS only thing, though I did this on the PS2 version, and I feel it may not serve any use at all.
TAS is cheating? I don't know you anymore!

The 'under the moat' video is obsoleted now that we found you don't need to pay the clam to make the objects raise out of the water, the trigger where the button should be is always active and you can hit it with cruise bubble (making the spatula take like 12 seconds to collect). And yeah, there are a lot of other small tricks that the Cruise Boost allows for, none of them are really documented aside from Twitch recordings though. I've got one video of one trick it allows for in Jellyfish Fields https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hE6m7_nw14g Edit: here's a new trick, I don't expect anyone to ever use it non-TAS http://www.twitch.tv/itspersonnal/c/3983058

Here is what a TAS route of FDG would kinda look like: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_UF_Q1zZAQ0 If anyone can think of some ways to improve this route, then I'll look into them.

Link to video Coel found this. Is it in some way related to that Goo Lagoon backwards w/o BBB glitch? Also using this glitch to reach plankton with Spongebob gives the following dialogue http://imgur.com/125TLsv,rRmcu6H Kinda funny that the devs made text for this despite normally unreachable with spongebob.

Personnal and I believe that the trick in that video and Goo Lagoon backwards are the same trick executed differently. We feel like this trick, which we refer to as Spongegliding, happens when something stops Spongebob from falling during his ground pound. Once Spongebob gets stuck, there has to be some speed to get Spongebob to move in that state. With Goo Lagoon backwards, you temporarily get stuck inside the buoy after getting knocked back by the goo. When you get the right angle, it stops Spongebob from falling for a slight moment, which puts him in the "stuck" state. The speed from the goo in addition to the angle you have will move Spongebob during his "stuck" state. Since you normally can't control Spongebob after he touches the goo, you can't control where Spongebob will go during the Spongeglide. In Sandy's Dream, ground pounding into the Bubble Bowl switch puts Spongebob into the "stuck" state. Getting Cruise Boost before ground pounding gives you the speed needed to move Spongebob during his "stuck" state. Since you keep full control after activating CB, you get a steerable Spongeglide. I haven't done much testing with this, so I might be wrong about some of the specifics; however, I feel like I know the basic idea of this trick.

Huh. I guess that explains why using the moonjump code while ground pounding causes you to freeze like that as well. Also, for Sandy's Dream, I've been thinking maybe use the explosive tiki's to somehow knock spongebob back and then groundpound so that he'll glide faster than with CB.

The problem with that idea is that when you Spongeglide after getting CB and taking damage, you won't be able to steer the Spongeglide due to how you lose control after getting hurt. If it's possible to get hit into the Bubble Bowl switch using the tikis, you would only be able to Spongeglide in the direction you go after getting hurt.

Link to video I guess I should post this here. In this video, it's slower than the old method, but I think it could maybe be optimized to be faster? It also doesn't require disabling the hand, which could be good in a TAS that uses BBBs in late game. (i.e. any good TAS)

Have you tried getting into the brain tubes and clipping out with this glitch? That way you can get all 3 tubes faster.

I redid the TAS using an L clip to get inside the brain, it was 7.5 seconds faster. sadly it desyncs when I play it back, so you'll just have to take my word on that. It was highly unoptimized too, so I figure another 2-4 seconds could be taken off. Coel says he'll try to use this new method in Cheat% runs, but it's far to risky and doesn't gain enough to use in long, non-TAS runs. Here's basically what I did, except non-TAS and slow: Link to video

There are so many people out there, much more qualified than I to find addresses in a game. Can someone else PLEASE look into this? I've been trying on and off for years to find a speed addresses with no luck, there's something off about this game compared to other games (Sonic Adventure 2) that I've done this kind of address searching in. I don't know nearly enough about what I'm doing to work my way around whatever is making the speed/position addresses so hard to come by. There is a ridiculous amount of knowledge that we will never achieve by just messing around with this game on console, being limited to basically only what we can observe visually. Without basic addresses, a proper TAS can never be made and farther research in things like Cruise Boost can not be done. I give up on finding these on my own.

Well I can supply some useful addresses if you need them. The Spongebob object is stored starting at location 0x803C0558. At 0x803C0668, there is a pointer to the "Position Component" that stores the position of Spongebob among some other values. The XYZ are stored starting at offset 0x30 from the start of the "Position Component". At 0x803C066C, it has a "Position Component" for the position on the previous frame. At 0x803C06E0, it stores a velocity towards the camera. At 0x803C06F0, it stores a velocity side to side (relative to the camera). There are other (maybe?) useful memory addresses near those. There may be a better speed measure I didn't find, but at least that is something.
