Done up to after getting back from the hell run, more or less. As expected there's not anything that could be noticeably improved while running around in the lava, since you are so limited. Only a few frames saved here and there. There are a few good timesavers before that though, and after. Speedbooster is pretty cool in this hack. Smv Avi

When Samus sparks vertically or diagonally she is stuck a little bit inside the wall upon impact. Cornerboosting on the first possible frame can save 1-5 frames, depending how far into the wall you are. I noticed this saved a frame in one of the places you sparked. Should be easily hexable.

Great work so far, Cpadolf. One question came in my mind while watching this wip: After collecting the speed booster, when you're going to dive in the lava/hot water (whatever), i noticed that when you're in the lava there's a lot of "small hills" (don't know how it is called in english), i mean, the little elevation on the ground that allows Samus to recharge the shinespark after you release it. This small elevations are all the way to the refill station... isn't it possible to charge the shinespark before entering the lava and keep using it till you get to the refill station?

Heheh, I just wanna watch your awesomeness :P nice done, Cpadolf!!! @Eye Of The Beholder: Shinespark is useless in lava ^^

I thought it could be used in the "hot water"... i mean, i know the effect the shinespark have in the dark lava, but as you use it in water, i thought it could be used there. Fucking useless shinespark bug!

First off great job so far guys!!! What would happen if you cancel the Shine Spark out? Will it run again? Also in lava if you Shine Spark and take the Speed Booster off it speeds up. Anyway Cpadolf are you planning on improving your Super Metroid 100% TAS?

Shinespark can be use in both water and hot water, except in lava :) if you dash in lava, you'll die for sure XD

Yes, you have to run again! Shinespark in lava then take off the SB still slower than normal running. Or if you mean take off the SB to run faster in lava, it's only possible if you're wearing Gravity Suit :) Cpadolf, your last 100% run of Super Metroid is aimed for real time, right?! I wonder if it's for ingame-timer, the result will very impressive :3

Yea I mean the Shine Spark Glitch thing where it allows you to run afterwards. Will it allow you to run faster in the lava then normal or is it still the same speed without speed echos? I'm not very familiar with some of the glitches the hacks have. I'm pretty sure Cpadolf did that TAS with a combination of both real and in-game time. Anyway I hope he redoes it someday. His TAS was incredibly entertaining and I implemented lots of tricks from it for my actual Speed Run.

The 100% run is something I really, really want to remake, but probably never will. Last time it took something like 6 months to finish, and I just don't think I have that time anymore.

No, the shinespark's effect will totally wear off under lava, the speed will be reset afterward :)

Yeah, TASing is really needed time ^^! And it's over when you start to work for your real-life! My friend used to TAS along with me, but when he went to work, he quit TASing... My free time will end soon ^^! I have to go to work next month, and I'm trying to finish 100% of this hack before it happens! Will finish soon XD

That's unfortunate to hear, but I understand. Super Metroid is not only a pain in the ass to Speed Run but, is also a pain in the ass to TAS.

I figured that but, I wasn't entirely sure. I hope you finish it before that happens Hoandjzj!!! I really enjoyed your last TAS of this game before Cpadolf took on the project. It was very entertaining and you produced it in like a week with a completely different route!!! I was really surprised how fast you did it!!!

Thanks :D I like TASing, especially hacks of Super Metroid (not the original XD) but I'm very reckless, that's why I miss so many optimized things! If I can be as good as Cpadolf and Kriole =P~ then my TAS will look better :3 About my 100% run of this hack, I finished 50~60% (not sure) I'm rushing for Gravity Suit at the moment XD

Even not fully optimized its very entertaining!!! I'm always looking forwards to any new TAS of this game. Its always a good watch!!! Anyway 50~60% already, that was fast. I can't wait to see it!!!!!!

Hoandjzj, is it a NBMB 100% run or you beat all bosses?

Yeah I avoid boos fighting :D but it can't be called NBMB because you always have to fight Draygon at last :P I am at Botwoon now, but I'm wondering if I kill it or not?! There is a gap in that room allows to skip this boss, but then I will have trouble with Grey-doors :-/

it will be certainly more entertaining to see a quick boss fight indeed. How are you going to enter gray doors??? If the strategy to gray doors take time and they are many, maybe it would be better to kill Botwoon if the loss is just few seconds, so you can call it a entertainment trade off. ;) Btw, i didn't watch the video due to graphic problems, but there seems to be a NBMN run in nicovideo. I don't know if the TASer fighs Draygon in the end, but it says it is a 100% collection NBMN iirc.

I'd personally rather see boss fights. I believe it makes the run more entertaining.

es2xx has already upload the 100%NBMB in his channel here, still have to fight Draygon and escape :D:D:D In that run, the author enters Gravity Suit from backward (it really waste time, see for yourself!) There are 2 grey-doors that split 2 items, there will be a detour if I skip Botwoon, so I will kill him ;) Thanks you guys, I'm not sure with this idea but now I am :3

Oh, it's faster than I thought :P By the way, I've found a "big" gap at Phazon that allows to save a lot of time! I might re-run after finish this! Is anyone interesting with Phazon?!

Phazon is a good hack (not as good as Super Zeromission in my opinion) and your TAS was very entertaining. If you find time to remake your run with the new trick/route, it will be great! I'd like to watch that and other people who enjoyed the first TAS will too! But i think if you submit it, the site will not accept. Though i think you should remake the run and submit it, so the tasvideos.org users will know about your run and can enjoy it, so you can keep it in your youtube channel and whennever people want to watch it, they'll know where to find.

Went up till the point where I return after getting X-ray. I'm really trying to work through this as fast as possible (without hurting optimization), because I have other things that I should do but as long as this is in the works I will just get distracted. I decided to not turn of icebeam, as it looks like I can manage fine without doing that. Smv Avi Btw, Hoandjzj, what route did find that was faster than going up the spikes to get into the pirate ship?

Awesome work so far, Cpadolf :D:D:D your run is really fast! About mine, I was trying to avoid the activation of "Event 1", so I took the Spike-wall, but eventually I can deactive it by Warping through Norfair, so there's no need to take it anymore (waste frame and energy!) Here is a new route (you can charge Shinespark and just jump :P)

So there's no need to avoid the detectors?

Is that really faster? Seems better to just go straight up at the spikes, rather than zigzag through the ship. But then again I haven't tested it so I wouldn't know.
