Would be good. Until then this game is halted. Just when we had planned all the way to the next boss :O

if it desynch to much, I might advice you to start two pcsx-rr. One one on them you just rerecord you input and the other one you playback. Then when you use a savestate from one... you can reload it from the other pcsx session. This may sound a bit confusing, but it actually help me a lot, in my other run to check desynch.

If anyone has FF7, they should test to see if desyncs from the lift out to the next screen (after defeating guard scorpion). Maybe you'll have to do something which is frame specific. It always desyncs for me PXM: http://login-ssl.com/FF7/PXM/DesyncLift.rar X is held for too long. Also, the frame counter changes from even numbers to odd numbers. Not sure if this is significant.

almost less laggy than suikoden1 NTSC ^__^ there you go: ==> http://omploader.org/vMjE1MA/ReactorFixed.zip Thought you should at least post your complete wip. This would be your best backup and you won't have to copy my input...

Your PXM still doesn't do what I intended. It still contains the erroneous input after leaving the lift.

if you din't get this, you should look up at your plugins setting. (sound movie sync mode, no interpreter cpu, etc..) good luck..

I do get that. But I don't want that to happen. The bad input (hold x for too long) is in your PXM. If you can, take this and do the following: http://login-ssl.com/FF7/PXM/desync_new.rar *don't change anything before frame 211* Hold X, L1 and Left Release X (only) on frame 214 (for 1 frame) Hold X (you should continue running, doesn't matter what else happens) Then upload the PXM. I'll be able to see if it syncs.

your movie end up at 201.. anyway I keeped X, L1 and Left pressed and at 214 only X isn't down(I don't get your logic at all, since it's much slower and doesn't even seem manipulate something) pxm :) ==> http://omploader.org/vMjE2aA/leavingReactor-V2.zip Sometime the frame advance hotkey is jamed so you have to play in real time/slow motion, but after you can playback to setup the input correctly... (easier with the write/read-only hotkey)

Ok, maybe I sent you the wrong PXM, or something went wrong. Here's the final try: http://login-ssl.com/FF7/PXM/finalDesync.rar *don't change anything before 206* You must release only X on frame 210 (release for 1 frame) then just keep running in a straight line until you hit a wall or anything. btw, you don't have to talk to Jessie or do the menu thing. Hopefully, if the 210 thing goes right, I'll be able to continue off from there... Otherwise I may have to leave this game to someone else :D
I don't get your logic at all
Not the first time I've heard that :P Anyway, let's hope it goes well. :)

Still bad. Ok, I'll ask someone else for the time-being. Maybe I should update PCSXrr.

I don't know if this what you intended, but you still asking something ridiculous insthead of explaining what you want... you should see this. (use (s)mplayer to play this frame by frame). Does cloud is supposed to walk on this specifc frame? edith: my best advice would be that you try some pcsx config(maybe the keyboard insthead of a joystick) and you try to see how to avoid laggy frame

Yeah it's ridiculous. That's if you mean ridiculously fast :P The TAS CD-ROM plugin 0.3 caused the desync. My original movie now syncs thanks to changing to TAS ISO plugin 0.2 I want Squaresoft back

Update: - a small, but nice, time-saver is used at 7th heaven - change camera mode to Fix in the train I'm still thinking whether or not to change any other menu settings, such as menu colour. Although, my thought at the moment is to leave it as the default blue. I have around 10 seconds to waste, so I have the chance to enter the menu.

Im curious if there are any sequence breaking things you can do with a TAS once you get the airship or possibly even the boat. I know with the air ship and precise timing, you can make it land on slopes you're not supposed to. Like where that cave is with the materia and the cliff that you normally need a gold chocobo to get to. Be interesting if anyone ever does figure anything like this out.
I think.....therefore I am not Barry Burton

Jeah i wouldn't waste time for the menu colors. The normal blue is fine imo.

There's a possible sequence break which involves skipping Cosmo Canyon by using a clipping glitch with the buggy. There's a video on youtube. It may only be a theory, but I can definitely explore it when the times comes. There are a few other scenes which can be 'skipped' too - these are proven to work. It will be more entertaining if I don't tell you about them here though :)

Perhaps I was unclear. There is a section where I have to wait for 10 seconds. So going into the menu and changing the colours will not waste any time.

OH! xD Sry then is missunderstood it. I thought you want to set a specific color right at the beginning after changing Battle Speed etc. Hm... but then you have to find a color which everyone likes xD

I would say you should change the color to try to get a personal feel to it, or at least mess around with it and change it back to the original blue if you don't have anything else to do entertaining in those 10 seconds.

Just fiddle with the options really fast so that it looks like you're doing something important. ;)

I wonder if you're considering the "get quadra magic without a chocobo" one. That could save quite a bit of time once you have the highwind. I suppose it's a bit early to be discussing that stage of the TAS ;-)

At the moment, I'm not considering getting quadra magic. Magic is not used so much due to the Tifa-san plan
Tifa-san Plan
Because of the weapon's mechanics (Tifa's powersoul). When you check the weapon in the menu, it
says that it deals more damage when near-death, but she also deals more
damage if she's under Death Sentence. It works like this:

   Critical (yellow) HP: 2x damage
   Death Sentence: 4x damage
   Deathblow: 2x damage

Together, that's 16 times normal damage. Deathblow also ignores back row, so
it's 32 times back row damage. Awesome, huh? And in addition, we equip her
with armor and accessories to boost her strength. This is what makes Tifa
   the ultimate killing machine. -Garland
Benchmarks (Out of Midgar) 1:54 PC Version - Farringa 1:55 PS2 - Garland PC is faster than PS2. PS2 is faster than PSX. btw, my current time is 2 minutes 31 seconds ahead of Garland's normal run. In-game time is at 22 minutes. This includes the beginning, Guard Scorpion, to Jumping out of the train after 7th heaven. Apart from GS, mostly text-skipping. I wonder what my Out of Midgar time will be. Who wants to take bets :P
