Maybe I could do a racing game. What's the most popular NES racing game?

Excitebike is the most popular NES racing game.

The only really popular nes one that I've ever heard of is excitebike, and I tried that and it didn't work very well. There aren't really any for the nes that you could do a speed run for. There might be though, but I don't know of any.

RC Pro-Am? Micro Machines? Rad Racer? Top Gear and F-Zero would be nice, but they're SNES games...

What about a fighting game? Is that a good idea?

Yeah. Top Gear(snes) rocks. How about: Ivan Ironman Stewart's Super Off-Road The game is long (99 rounds) but if you do only the qualification rounds (the first 14 levels) it could be interesting.

The only one on your list that's NES/Famicom is Rockman 6. ..though seeing a Somari run would be fun ^_^
someone is out there who will like you. take off your mask so they can find you faster. I support the new Nekketsu Kouha Kunio-kun.

Actually, there is a Rocman 7 nes hack. I think that it only has the four orignal robot masters in it though. I haven't played it for more than a couple of minutes, but it is probably more like a pirate than a hack.

There are quite a few pirate Rockman games for Famicom. Most are only alternate cartridge art or cartridge color with the original ROM. However.. Rockman 5 = Darkwing Duck with altered sprites Rockman 6 = Rockman 5 with altered title screen Rockman 7 = Rockman 6 with altered title screen ROCMAN X = Thunder Blast Man with altered sprites

I have a request: Shatterhand. One of my all-time favorites, and one of the few NES games I actually took time to master. It has a beginning stage, five intermediate stages, and a final one, so there's plenty of different paths to test out. IIRC, I used to do the stages in order of upper-left, lower-right, lower-left, middle, upper-right. That was just so I got the invincibility suit for the final boss (yes, I played it that much). It's not going to be a fast game, but it would be fun to see someone else's take on it. http://gamefaqs.com/console/nes/data/8112.html

Bisqwit, have you even watched that ice climbers movie? Its impressive that he did it with only 50ish rerecords, but that movie is no where near close to being perfect.

I browsed through some NES titles to see which ones I liked, but I'm not sure how entertaining a time attack would be. I've heard a lot mentioned, but I'm not sure how many might be pending. Fester's Quest 8 Eyes Metal Storm Mighty Final Fight Strider Smash TV If I repeated some games from other threads (and I know I did) think of it as additional demand.

I might be able to do something on request. Don´t know if I can´t do it in the coming 2 weeks though since I have a test coming up. That means I have to study alot. Anyways. I like the idea of this concept with runs and I actually like doing em. So far my Addams Family movie is completed (mentioning this again ;P) and I also tried to run through TMNT. But since that game crashed (see that thread) I couldn´t finish it. So what now? I really wanna do something but im out of ideas. Any suggestions?

It depends on which genre of game you like.

Doesn´t matter really. Addams Family is platform-jumping with collecting parts in it. Like items and money. Turles is an action game? Uhm, the point is it´s doesn´t really matter. As long as I can do a cool run im happy.
