The fact that it's actually the old character design rather than the bullshit we got to saw later with wings and ears and retarded hair and goddamned cutie marks on their faces is one of the reasons I'm back to carefully neutral about it. Watch those later character designs we saw pictures of be how the toys are going to look!
All in all it looks like it could have been much worse.
Still stupid things about it: I fully expect a romance between Twilight and whatshisface to be shoehorned in, and the other main characters aren't humanized versions of the ponies but, uh, characters in the mirror universe. Which makes no fucking sense unless we go with what my current favourite theory for explaining away the whole movie is: The entire thing takes place in Twilight's head.
When it comes out, I'm fully planning on getting a groupwatch of it together, because this isn't something that's going to be possible to fully appreciate alone.

I'm not sure that makes much sense either. AFAIK, humans don't exist in the G4 universe (or at least not in the same dimension) and thus Twilight shouldn't have any notion of such beings.
I would see that video if not for the fact that I've just read something my sister sent me that made me want to go destroy the nearest living thing. I don't think having something related to "Equestria Girls" would make me feel any better atm.

My Fluttershy video recently had a surge of over a hundred views, most of which were from mobile devices. The rest were from a related video of humanized ponies, dedicated to a dead guy. Don't know how to take that.
A hundred years from now, they will gaze upon my work and marvel at my skills but never know my name. And that will be good enough for me.
So apparently the last trailer for the MLP Movie revealed the initial part of the plot. Somebody stole Twilight's Elements of Harmony crown and took it through the mirror. Said thief is annoying school girl snob.
It's worth viewing the whole thing yourself, but I will say...there's hope for this thing yet.

Some moments in the trailer were genuinely funny, actually. I kind of have a dislike for the generic 'you must find macguffin x' type of plot, but eh, it could be worse.
That song was kind of painful and there's still a ton of things that make no fucking sense but yeah I can stay neutral.
