OKAY SO It doesn't have anything quite as delightful as Twilight standing on her hind legs while holding a fishbowl in Spike's general direction, but it does open up with a shot of a teary eyed Rarity standing on her hind legs while reading the mail (so now both her books open up with a character receiving a letter), which i something I guess. Apparently Ms. Mary still hasn't received the memo that unicorns use basic telekinesis for that sort of thing. Overall, though, the art has improved since the characters don't look quite so weird this time around. Hello, early Christmas shopping!

Ok, it's official: I hate Daring Do episodes with a passion. Not as much as Magical Mystery Cure, but they are pretty close seconds. This latest episode was the first episode of the entire series where I was this close to just stop watching it about two thirds through. It's nonsensical, doesn't fit the universe of the series at all (you could just as well consider these DD episodes as alternate universe episodes), and worst of all, astonishingly boring. It was a complete chore to sit through the 20 minutes of the episode. And, like the first DD episode, there was once again a huge missed opportunity of a plot twist (eg. DD isn't actually who she pretends to be, or some variant of that.)

I missed several episodes due to me being in the hospital 'cause their TV cable service doesn't carry Discovery Family. Now I'm back home to catch up on them.

Don't get your hopes up for Grogar just yet. Wait for season 7 which has been confirmed. The season 6 finale has Queen Chrysalis as the villain.

It is rather easy to fall for one's temptation and check the spoiler. You're only going to annoy people that didn't want to know the spoiler. That being said, I'm looking for part 2 of the finale. Edit: found it.

About the finale (this doesn't actually contain spoilers of any significance, but I'm putting it in spoiler tags anyway, in case you don't want to read anything at all about the finale, not even opinions.) I think the finale was quite ok, even though I thought it was a bit of a letdown given the grandiose nature of the previous two season finales, where they went really the extra mile to make them spectacular and epic. There was kind of an attempt at this in the setup, but ultimately in the end it just felt like a somewhat average mid-season episode. Although, in some sense, that was also somewhat of a relief. At one point I was actually fearing they would pull another Magical Mystery Cure and actually make Starlight Glimmer a princess. I was thinking "no, no, no, please don't, no, no, don't do that, please oh please. Don't make another MMM, please." Luckily, they didn't, and I'm really relieved because of that. I really liked the idea of making, not just a regular episode, but the season finale of all things, it about secondary characters (nice lampshade hanging from you-know-who, too.) It was a refreshing change of pace. Too bad that the finale turned out to be, regardless of the promising beginning, rather meh and average. I think there was a great missed opportunity in the first half, where they could have prolonged the "mystery" longer, ie. the strange behavior of the ponies when Starlight returns to Ponyville. They could have eg. made it look like nobody remembers her and that eg. apparently something has happened to the timeline, or something. But they disposed of any such possible plotlines way too quickly, which was a shame. Also, the radical change in the end happened way, way too easily. I know, kids' show, limited runtime, but still... way too easily. Broke willing suspension of disbelief.

I have taken up the timeline project again. I'm currently putting all the info from that huge image I've been making to a google drive sheet. After that I will rewatch S6 and add more info to it. Then I can try to construct a timeline out of all that information. Maybe it will be one huge timeline and smaller character-based timelines. WIP

For the Equestrian Rodeo, I think the ribbons by colors from first to last being a hybrid of the color order from the US and New Zealand minus yellow, white, and after purple. I think this is the order: 1. Blue 2. Red 3. Green 4. Pink 5. Purple

Okay so I watched the second half of S6 over the last two-ish weeks and in general it was just the same kind of meh I've considered the latest seasons to be. Dungeons and Discords was easily the best episode of the season and a legit good episode in general, and Discord was definitely back in style for the finale as well. Good return to form for him after What About Discord. I do wish to stop for a moment and point out Pony Point Of View, though. Is it only me or was the big reveal in that incredibly stupid? And as mediocre as the show in general in my opinion has become, if there's one thing I'll give FiM above the actually pretty consistently good cartoons I watch (by which I mostly mean AT and SU), it's that it actually knows how to stick to a fucking schedule. Like, for serious, AT aired its previous episode back in July, and still hasn't gotten the season finale (that has been confirmed and preview screenshots exist) out. And SU has just been catastrophically bad about that since forever ago. Guess I'll end up watching Legend of Everfree, too... Edit: Okay, so I watched Legend of Everfree and these movies are just getting dumber with each installment. I already said the climax of Friendship Games felt like self-parody, this one was even more so to the point where part of me wants to think some people on the production team are doing it on purpose. Pinkie was easily the highlight of the movie and pretty much the only saving grace of the EQ movies in general. Mostly because EQ Pinkie is somehow even more impossible than regular Pinkie.

Well not quite, but there's always fansubs. Speaking of Equestria Girls, there's going to be three 30-minute TV specials (including commercials)

I just don't get Equestria Girls. I watched the first two movies, but haven't even bothered with the third and fourth. I found them uninteresting. Nothing special about them. Just some kids' cartoons. They just lack that something that the MLP:FiM series has.

And it's not like the main series has that something anymore either.

I was wondering about this particular sentiment. May be seasonal rot? I'm sad about two things in particular lately: - The Elements-Keys-Chest-Tree-Castle-Map storyline. Is it finished, or just stuck in limbo? In both cases it is disappointing. I expected there to be more about it. A deeper meaning behind the Elements. - Bad guys turning good. Was ok with Discord, was noncredible with Starlight, and it was stupid with the Changelings. Watch Crysalis be the S8 finale badguy who turns good in the end. I mean they pretty much set the story up for this to happen. Things I really liked lately, regardless of seasonal rot or whatever you want to call it: - Moondancer - Starlight and Trixie interactions

True, but it's also smarter than that, in a manner that appeals to adults as well. Something that I don't see in the Equestria Girls movies. Those are just kids' cartoons period. Or at least that's how I feel about them.

Well not quite
Although season 3 did air in Korea, there is still hope that Season 3 may air in Japan, but time will tell.

The Netflix version of Where the Apple Lies, every instance of cider was replaced with juice. This was probably due to the episode not being aired in the UK. As cider being an alcoholic beverage in the UK.

It would be funny if they dubbed over that single word in the original lines using a completely different voice, to make it stand out like a sore thumb.

Last night I dreamed that Andrea Libman died and all the fansites were sad and my first thought was, "Oh no, what'll happen with Fluttershy now?" Uuuuuuurrrrffff.
