Yay. but if it's possible to update the submission, I made 2 mistakes. At the start of the metropolis 1 comments, it says "Since zone that" but it should be "Since this is a zone that". And for Metropolis 3, instead of "we need to do 3rd quick spindashes" it should be "we need to do 3 quick spindashes" Now I'll watch the end and vote

jijiji And I had trusted to 100% of your translations. But do not worry, there are 2 minor errors. I have fixed it.

Attention
This is a pity that the TAS has been rejected, in fact I am a bit sad. However, this does not mean that this TAS is not useful. Now as you know, this is a good OPPORTUNITY improve this run and so, all who wish to work for the betterment of this, they can freely take the project and improve it for your own. Remember that working on team is better and I not would, alone, improve the imperfect parts. Now I'm working on another TAS, but when that is finished, I'll advance in this for improve it. Thanks to everyone who helped me create this TAS and hopefully this time you can play the 4 levels omitted. I am sure that this project will not be in vain.

Hey! I have an idea, why I not trying to make a run "perfect bonus" with the game Sonic 2 Heroes? In this game I have many more advantages: * The ability to do spindash without losing speed. * Play with 3 different characters (with usable skills) * The characters are an improved version. * I can use barriers of Sonic 3 & Knukles (especially attracting the Rings) Besides that in CNZ2 the rings that seemed unattainable, can be taken with Tails, and in MCZ2 with Knuckles. May also thanks to the additional skills can to take the other rings that I could never achieve. Do not know if it will be a good idea. What you say?

My hack helps a bit more than that -- it removes unreachable rings, so that a perfect bonus is possible in all levels. If you wait for the next version (and I really recommend you do), you can also get perfects on S1 levels and I finish removing unreachable rings. There is the downside that you can only grab rings that are minimally off-screen -- it uses the S3&K ring manager to reduce lag and free RAM for other purposes.

Then I will wait. If you say that the unreachable rings will be deleted much better, so I'll not have to worry of them and also the fact that a "perfect bonus" is possible at all levels, sound exciting. Please just tell in this thread when that version is completed.

Marzojr, is possible that your LUA sonic_hud.lua can show information of Sonic 2 Heroes? Speed, Time, etc. As is the principal function. It will be essential for that I can create it future TAS planned. You can do it?

I don't think a rom hacks that only removes the impossible rings will be accepted. see that romhack that removes all rings and was promptly rejected
My first language is not English, so please excuse myself if I write something wrong. I'll do my best do write as cleary as I can, so cope with me here =) (ノಥ益ಥ)ノ

Like I said in the thread: when I release the next version, I will do it; before then, it is just a waste of time (since I redid the entire RAM layout to consolidate free RAM, as well as the entire object layout to reduce lag).

The particular ROM hack we are talking about does a lot more than simply remove the rings; the primary thing it does is allow simultaneous 3 players with Sonic, Tails and Knuckles.

marzojr I wanted to ask you a question: How will the project Sonic 2 Heroes?

I guess Sonic 2 Heroes do not exist anymore since marzojr started Sonic Classic Heroes... But what about the "Perfect Bonus run", maybe someone here is trying to improve Felipe's movie? has someone restart a new run? Please, I want to know more about it, mainly currently news, ways, glitches to come back for unreachable rings... I may make a new start of run soon. If someone is on the project, I may ask him if my help is welcome =)

As far as I know, Felipe was the one who worked on this project. And don't forget about the crisis of Sonic TAS world. Almost no activity anymore... If you are serious about the project, think of the level of optimization that you are going to reach. Considering the fact that this run has almost no chance to be accepted, it does not make sense to fight for every single frame. I would suggest you a much easier goal - beat Felipe's times. It's more than enough to get your run appreciated by public.

Consider the restructuring the site went through when the three-tier system was introduced. Unorthodox goals such as this are the entire point of the Moon tier. I think that if Felipe's run was UnGrued right now, it would stand a good chance of being accepted. feeuzz22, if you are committed to this, let me make this suggestion: Complete every level instead of skipping with level select as Felipe does; in the levels where the Perfect Bonus is unattainable, simply get as many rings as you can.

If you cannot find significant mistakes in some levels, you should be able to beat them by pure optimization - better positioning, better braking (making X speed 128 without having to make it below 128 and press [<>])

Yep, that's the new "real" goal, as you can see, I didn't entered the select stage menu. My current problem is now... Have us to take ring monitors or not???

I will =), as you already know, since I notice that every Good TASers use this technic, I try to do it too, but sometimes (like when I wait for Tails) I can allow myself to brake slower =P OK, I submit WIP-1 to TASvideos Wips (only EHZ1).

If think you should decide whether to take a ring monitor or not, depending on which is faster in your situation. You don't have to collect all the monitors, but shouldn't go slower because of them.

I agree... If someone disagree or have a better idea, he's still free to advice. It's like my maximum ring TAS in S3&k, isn't it?? :)

I recommend you doing a "max rings" run, which would obviously include rings boxes. I think that it would be more entertaining than a "max individual rings" one.

In my opinion, you should collect all of the individual rings instead. Because collecting ring boxes isn't a necessity to get the "perfect bonus", as we all know. And it will make the run slower if you collect all of the ring boxes so, I think you shouldn't collect them.

It's maybe better to collect all individual rings (to get the perfect bonus), to not collect the ring monitors (to finish faster) except if they are "on the way" (to don't waste time). Exactly like the "maximum individual rings" challenge. I'm still open to advices

The ring boxes, if I recall correctly, do not count toward getting the Perfect Bonuses, so my suggestion is to define your goals thusly, from most to least important:
  • Obtain the Perfect Bonus in all levels possible.
  • In levels where the Perfect Bonus cannot be obtained, collect as many free-floating rings as possible.
  • Beat the game as fast as possible.
