It is your opinion, but I highly doubt it will happen as I don't think even all of our current encoders understands all of the script and/or parameters used in x264.
I can't speak for anyone else, but I've been reading up on x264 settings and avisynth recently. The only big things I don't understand yet are deblink and blinkmask

There's a subtle difference between "published movies must have an encode on TVC" and "publications must have a link to a TVC encode". We have made exceptions for the latter for some instances, like SM64 runs and OoT runs where the authors prefer having the publication link to their YouTube encode.

I have silently used underscores (_) to separate the authors for a long while already.
Actually, what I thought was related to commas appears to be a https problem, commas are still okay as long as the link is http.

My point is, it can be safely put into a webseed and will be downloaded via torrent. But if Archive killing commas for direct downloads is a problem, we might just officially stop using them for author teams. What do you think?

I want to separate a dump in two, because encoding the whole dump will take a lot of time. So encoding a part and the other on a day are what I want. Then I'll append them together. Yet, it seems difficult to me, and I wonder if it's possible.
This is my avs, and the batch to encode.
If you can't afford encoding for a few days in a row, I (or some other encoder) could handle this. Splicing 2 mp4 segments could be easy, but with timecodes and stuff, splicing mkvs may break. Do you really want to try?

I actually think you can do it.
Run audio encoding and duplicate frame detection on an unmodified script. Add Trim(0, SomeFrame) after importing AVI, encode the desired video segment, then replace it with Trim(SomeFrame+1, -0) and encode the second segment. Then splice them into one, you can use "mkvmerge GUI" and "append". I think you can drag your audio and timecodes right into there too.
Same for 512kb, except no timecodes and with "My MP4Box GUI.

I put it in a test, and it seems to work, but there's one problem. The second segment has only 1 frame encoded. I added the trim code right before last.
I'd put it at line 6. What frame did you choose to split at?

In the test, I decided to split after 150 frames in a video of 295 frames including the logo. Putting the code on line 6 will have the logo included, and that is not what I wanted.
Oh, yes, I forgot about logo and subtitles. Then do the following: leave the part where you trim out your needed segment at line 6, and when applying the trimframe (where to actually end the movie) set 120 instead of 0 for the second segment. Subtitle commands can be commented out by putting /* and */ around them.

Trim(0, trimframe - int(last.FrameRate * 2)) -> Trim(int(last.FrameRate * 2, trimframe - int(last.FrameRate * 2))
That would be more correct.

An hour and fifty minute dump requirimg a pause is silly.
I know I did a YT encode on this in 4k (which I forgot to upload).
The encode only took about 8 hours to do maybe even less.
So what is the point of doing a splice on something that isn't long to begin with?
