You can start the process at 8 AM, and it will have all day to finish. That's what I do at least, and those 8 hour-encoding are really common actually, so I suggest you start doing that.

Trim(0, trimframe - int(last.FrameRate * 2)) -> Trim(int(last.FrameRate * 2, trimframe - int(last.FrameRate * 2)) That would be more correct.
This one doesn't work to me either. But I finally managed to encode well the second segment. I moved the trim code to line 157. After muxing the segments, audio, and timecodes, it seems be okay! Thank you for your help, feos.

An hour and fifty minute dump requirimg a pause is silly. I know I did a YT encode on this in 4k (which I forgot to upload). The encode only took about 8 hours to do maybe even less. So what is the point of doing a splice on something that isn't long to begin with?
On my end, it says somewhere around 15 hours. But I guess I have to be patience and see the progress.

Thanks for the advice, Guga. That's what I'm trying to do.

Hi everyone, I am thinking of encoding my TASes in 1440p. Is there a way to fool my mupen (which I have just got to work in my VM) to display at 1440P without breaking it. my computers screen is displayed as 1280 x 800. In other words. I want to make mupen record at 1440p while inside of the VM. Hope this helps, sorry for bad description in advance ;)

I think it's impossible to record offscreen stuff, maybe a VideoForWindows thing. For me the end picture is what I set, but the image gets cut beyond my screen resolution.
Ah, but you forget, this is inside a VM. Set the VM Desktop resolution to be bigger than your capture resolution and you can capture in 1440p. The VM software would either rescale or add scroll bars. What VM software are you using? Ediy: Sorry feos, I knew of this solution a long time ago, but I didn't think you would want to go through the trouble of setting a VM just to capture, lol.
I tested today going crazy with resolutions higher than my screen and .kkapture, and it works perfectly on win7 x64 with no VMs. Mupen64, pcsx, doom... I bet it will work with BizHawk's N64 video too.

Nvidia's DSR and AMD's VSR are both great for that, I've found. It was one of the deciding factors when I got a new card. I've tried on Bizhawk and from what I can tell, in a 1920x1080 resolution you can capture at any resolution available using both Jabo's plugin and Rice, but for either version of Glide, the limit is 1600x1200. Changing to 4k using VSR / DSR doesn't seem to have any effect on this though, Bizhawk still crashes when Glide's resolution is set higher than that. I'm not sure if it's just my machine though.

Great, so I guess the problem was Windows XP, feos.

As someone with little-to-no experience with Doom replays, what would be the best way to go about extending them in order to show the end scenes?

Following http://doom.wikia.com/wiki/Demo, you can extend it by putting a ton of 0x00 at the end before the final 0x80 in an hex editor

So am I the only one for whom archive doesn't load the Upload page?

My personal experience with such programs hasn't been good. Virtual audio cable pretty much screwed my PC when I tried it. Virtual OS (not sure what was the name, basicly emulating another Windows) wasn't crash proof either. And if you're going to have so many programs open and then want to try a fake monitor, you don't want it to crash and lose progress in all of them. Just my thoughts

So I tried this and it doesn't work for me (Win7, AMD). So I did some research and found this: http://www.planningcommunications.com/virtual_desktop.htm I've not tried the free version but if it works, maybe it is worth the money.

I've been thinking, is there a way to get dolphin working with kkapture? With windows dumping broken even on the fixed version (thanks vfw), it could serve as a viable alternative. It's probably already been tried, but I thought there'd be no harm in asking!

Dolphin is 64-bit app while .kkapture is 32-bit. 32-bit and 64-bit apps don't talk to each other. Yea, I tried =p.

kkapture's source code is available; maybe it can be compiled as a 64-bit application?

That thought did cross my mind as I have made my own builds in the past. Not sure which parts needs to be modified for 64-bit though.

It would eliminate a lot of the difficulties with both older and newer runs, hmm. I wonder if it's possible to get in contact with ryg. I sent him a message, not expecting it to actually get a response but I thought it'd be worth a shot! Edit: The message didn't send. His account no longer exists.

Are the hi-res builds of desmume that allow dumping at those resolutions still available? I can't find the original post and want to try out an idea I had in relation to anti-aliasing with software rendering.

adelikat banned the concept (it had endless bugs, and the official devs were never contacted about adopting it), and I removed the post for fruitlessness. I still seem to have the build, but not the patch. https://sourceforge.net/projects/feos-tas/files/DeSmuME-HiResAVI.7z/download

That's fair enough. It's a shame - I was excited about the concept when I heard about it. http://oi57.tinypic.com/o0t6og.jpg http://oi62.tinypic.com/11j3x1v.jpg The second image has 2x aa, particularly noticeable near her ear and crown if you flick between both images. I used this particular shot because if I recall opengl distorts her face, so this is something I could only accomplish with software rendering. I probably won't put much more effort in to this then, I was hoping to do a whole run or two but if it's not an acceptable concept then there isn't much point at this moment. Thank you for the build, feos!

I literally didn't see a difference when switching between both images until I read the rest of your post. I think the lack of any texture filtering took all my attention.
