She runs in JPC-RR. She's real slow (about 1/8th of realtime), but she runs alright. The Internet doesn't hold too much information on this beauty, so things like differences between the various versions (1.0, 1.1 and 1.2; 2.x are the Windows port) are largely unknown. The game scrolls somewhat slowly, so it might not be the most entertaining game choice on the planet. Howewer, playing on the hardest difficulty and destroying everything could still be interesting. I'm currently using v1.0 of the full version; the boot movie can be located here.

Thanks for doing games on my list. By any chance, do you want to set the date when TASing to one of the developer's birthday's so you enable extra hard mode? May 16 Scott Host August 28 Rich Fleider October 2 Jim Molinets

Come on now, everything is a she to you! Although I've never played Raptor, I'm a big fan of Tyrian, so I fully support this endeavor. :)

Real men refer to everyone as politely as if they were a woman. By the way Valerie, your new shoes are very pretty.

Raptor, Keen... so much of my childhood right there. For what it's worth, when I played this on my 386SX20, I thought the slowness was the normal speed...when I finally got a 486, wow! what a difference! the game actually has difficulty! =) I didn't even know there was a Windows port... Nostalgia aside, can't wait to see some encodes.

Tyrian runs at full speed on a 386, supposedly (with graphics set to the lowest setting).

Be happy you didn't, although it's nice that it runs well on Windows, the new graphics additions etc. look out of place imo making for a worse experience. If this game was to be TAS'd I'd rather the latest DOS version be done :/
