Sounds like something is just going wrong with the cheat list when loading a new ROM up for the first error. The second error is just you ran out of memory somehow?

Just some time ago, I found that if I open TAS Studio first and then load the cheat list without playing it, then in somehow works.

Are you using the Nymashock core or the Octoshock core? The latter is known to have desyncs, the former should be desync proof.

Ah, I suspect you actually did use Octoshock. Nymashock has extra validation checks against incorrect BIOS files and thus rejects such BIOS files. Octoshock does not have these checks, so BizHawk recovers by falling back to Octoshock. Using the correct BIOS files should result in Nymashock being used. Also, your firmware is not bad per se, but it comes from an older revision of a US console than what the PSX cores target, so it is just "unacceptable." It's reported as unknown for the EU slot as this is a US bios not an EU bios.

Ahh ok. Yeah i can see under Emulation it had loaded Octoshock despite the setting under Config>cores>psx being set to Nymashock. I loaded a Eu bios and it still read "bad" under firmware, but it seems to have loaded nymashock core now(when i start a new tastudio project). Hmmmm well probably time to redo entire TAS we will see how much of it is resyncable. Thanks for the help

How do i stop bizhawk automatically adjusting the window size during certain loading points with PSX, seems to have started doing it since changing to the Nymashock core.

Hey look buddy, I'm an engineer. That means I solve problems. Not problems like "What is software," because that would fall within the purview of your conundrums of philosophy. I solve practical problems. For instance, how am I gonna stop some high-wattage thread-ripping monster of a CPU dead in its tracks? The answer: use code. And if that don't work? Use more code.

Yeah I'm having the exact same problems as that post. Applying a custom size fix's most of the problems, but then yeah it then spawns the top menu bar out of windows bounds and you have to do a bunch of witchcraft to get it back in bounds. Not the worst thing i've had to deal with when tas'ing (there's always something) but is annoying. Edit: Dragging the bottom edge of the window down to the bottom edge of the screen will get windows to do the auto resize thing and solve the problem the quickest, making this a slight inconvenience.

I need help understanding a command line prompt issue. I had a setup that runs a batch file to open up multiple instances of Bizhawk. Well, I moveed over to Bizhawk 2.9 and I couldn't get it to work anymore. I went back to 2.8, and now the problem persists. Is something getting written to a registry that would affect this? This is really depressing, since I can't understand why this won't work anymore. The synopsis is below: I'm using this command line: EmuHawk.exe --lua="C:\XXXXX\BOT.lua" --movie="c:\XXXXXX\Movie.tasproj" "C:\XXXXX\romname.rom" The problem is, when the emulator is brought up, TASStudio is making me convert the loaded project over to a new one. "Cancel" just stops the process. "Yes" or "No" just does it anyway. This newly created project doesn't have savestate information or markers. How can I get around this? I've tried using Powershell, but for some odd reason "SendKeys" will not activate the menu options (I tried on other applications and it works).

Nevermind. I decided to download the code and recompile it without the convert routine in it. It works fine now.

Windows 8 (not 8.1) doesn't have the required .NET Framework version for the latest versions of BizHawk. Even then you probably should just update it to at least Windows 10 here if not just for security.

Based on my experiences, the last version that does work on Windows 8 is 2.4.0.

Ah yes, now i can confirm: 2.4 is the latest version working on Windows 8. By the way, i was testing a segmented longplay on 2.3.2 (and 2.4) of Bugs Bunny Lost in Time (PAL version) and the game freeze at Sam's Cave level. Its sad that the most accurate emulator ruins my run that way after 1 hour of recording :/

And you think, Windows 8 is the root cause of it?
TASing is like making a film: only the best takes are shown in the final movie.

No, because i used a W8 compatible build (obviously). Anyway, you know if its possible to import a old build savestate into a new one? (im looking to continue in the latest build, after i'll pass to W10 - sooner or later...)

Not directly, but you can copy SaveRAM if the game has that.
