Could someone explain what's happening in this movie? Specifically why it is so short. I'd like to know more about it, as I never played the original game.
It's what the description dicusses. Randonly placed characters, randomly placed Jason. This was one of the more lackluster NES games in general, to many. It was also notoriously tough back in the days. I might have defeated the game once ever. You had to rescue kids from different houses, and fight Jason as well. You find different weapons and such, and I think even Jason's vulnerability to certain weapons was random as well. I'm not too sure.
You had to 'kill' him three times to beat the game. Beat him the first time and he gets stronger and moves faster. Beat him the second time and he moves really fast and is stronger than before. Also, each kid that you can play as had their own strengths/weaknesses. Some of them couldn't jump if their lives depended on it.
I bought this game for 10 bucks at Odd Job when I was like 10 :P I actually liked it more than most did.
I just looked up the world record for Friday the 13th at Twin Galaxies and it is 3:55. It looks like Phil has some more work to do. I think beating the world record should be a requirement for the video to be accepted for the nesvideos page.
Edit: Speaking of world records, someone over at the Twin Galaxies forums claimed a time of 6:59 in Solstice. I don't think he sent in proof yet, but said he has it on tape. Someone needs to make a new Solstice video.
No, Twin Galaxies doesn't make any of the videos available. You could try asking the TG people for strategy tips, but they might want to keep their strategies a secret.
Ok not grave I will just restart it maybe using the same .fmv and try to find a fastest way.Well I dont think they can give me some tips since the game is pretty random.
1 100.000% 03:55.000 Daniel Teixeira V
2 52.809% 07:25.000 Mike Morrow V
3 39.429% 09:56.000 Wolff Morrow V
At least I beat 2 guys ;P.
I just looked up Friday the 13th at GameFAQs, and they have a walkthrough by Brian Sulpher and Daniel Teixeira, so you might want to read it before you redo your speed run.
Paul cant run or jump.
Btw Phil, instead of going straight to the childrens cabin and waiting around, why dont you go hunt for Jason in one of the houses. Even if the Jason warning isnt going off, you can still sometimes find him in random cabins or run into him outside.
Hmm. I'm not sure how TG does it. However, if they could get two seconds slower, than this might not be as fast as possible. Whatever. I'll just wait and see then.
Time counted in TG is always time from the first button press (after actually starting the game, so the first time when you can actually control any action) to the last button press.
someone is out there who will like you. take off your mask so they can find you faster.
I support the new Nekketsu Kouha Kunio-kun.

Plzz check my video and I have done the famous Flame tip if it's what you're trying to say.

And you should do it using Paul instead of Mark. Now that would be impressive. :)
No I'm trying to do the fastest time not a simple time.By the way it's Mark or Crissy the best.

Does this still apply? There's a 6:29 movie now (6:13 if you count the intro etc off).
I wonder if that comment I made about the Solstice world record had anything to do with him redoing it. I guess it's kind of embarrassing for someone's save state-assisted movie to be beaten by someone not using save states.
