Comments

At every level end there is a mini-game which allows to make a living if you manage to fire at all the bottles.

Stage by stage comments

Mexico City

It is the first level it is not difficult to take stars.

Stagecoach

I discovered a nice trick. If you press the "down" button while you give a punch to an arrow, it gets through you completely you.

Painful Gulch

I have to go to 2 underground passages and catapult me to take stars.

Train/Buffalo/Rapids/Tornado

The levels in automobile-scrolling are not necessarily interesting, stars are got back in the course of the level.

Saloon

I kill the first enemy to have enough dynamite, to be able to explode walls. (5 sticks of dynamite are used).
It is not important but I kill three bandits who are in barrels in the lowest floor.
And I get back the first big heart of the game which allows me it can lose more life in the level "The Prairie".

The Prairie

This level is not obvious for the 100%, I am obliged to kill some enemies to have enough dynamites. (8 sticks of dynamite are used).

Ranch

A bull in charged at me and catapulted me into about fifty meters in height so that I can take sheriff's star which flew in the airs...everything is absolutely normal!!!

Cheyenne Mountains

This level was rather boring, it was necessary to find the good places to lose hearts, I chose places where I could cross several obstacles at the same time, as 2 falling stones for example.
I am obliged to kill the Indian at the beginning of the level to have enough explosive. It is the level where are needed most sticks of dynamite. (9 sticks of dynamite are used).
And as in the TAS any% [2316] GBC Lucky Luke by TheKDX7 in 24:19.08 I takes the last big heart of the game.

Jail

Nothing very special in this last level. I use 2 sticks of dynamite for Averell and 2 sticks of dynamite for William, that do not make win of time but it is funnier than to use the Colt.
And my last heart which is used to end on frames where I put my last stick of dynamite.

Epilogue

Final score: 409500
Total number of life: 15
Total number of Stars: 60
Total number of big hearts: 2
Total number of small hearts: 4
Total number of lost hearts: 17
Total number of killed enemies: 56

feos: I actually enjoyed the run. Good style, nice music, funny game. Accepting and publishing (to the Vault due to poor feedback).

For a GBC color, I suppose the graphics are "alright", just alright, and nothing more :P. The music is really annoying (and I'm someone who can listen to generally annoying songs on repeat), and doesn't seem to change all that much between different levels for the tone/beat wise side of things until later levels. The minigame between levels is repetitive (now this wouldn't be all that big of a deal in normal gameplay, but for speedruns that's bad, and for TASes it's even worse since we know you won't miss). And overall, this just looks like a game I'd play if I was completely bored, and had nothing else to play. Generally, I think it helps if people know who Lucky Luke is so they can appreciate this more. I can praise the graphic style for what it is, but... I do want to state that comparing a PSX game to a GBC game is kind of silly, but the PSX version is so much better. The auto-scroll levels make it pretty boring compared to what the PSX version does in the same situation. Though these of course are not your fault, and I just wanted to state that even from this point... I'd classify this as a bad game choice. Now for the run itself, for 30 minutes 15k rerecords doesn't seem like all that much so I'd like to ask how optimized is this in general? Also, I'm probably being distracted by how bad I feel the game is, but the playing seems kind of bland. Of course, from that generally harsh overview I just gave (lol sorry about it sounding harsh), I'm going to vote no for entertainment. Oddly, I still feel this should be published though for the vault only.

The game, however simple it is, is not complicated to optimize. The route is optimized at most. There is really no big technique or of glitch in this game it is just necessary to go to the end of the level by taking the normal path, thus even if the number of rerecord is not very high I think that 15752 is one a lot of for a game like that. The any% run account only 8314 rerecords.

What does it mean? You missed some?
Warning: When making decisions, I try to collect as much data as possible before actually deciding. I try to abstract away and see the principles behind real world events and people's opinions. I try to generalize them and turn into something clear and reusable. I hate depending on unpredictable and having to make lottery guesses. Any problem can be solved by systems thinking and acting.

No it is about the number of times that I took myself damage to save time.
