hello everybody I decide to create my own Tas movie by using tasvideo tutorial for my fav video game castlevania. This is my first attempt so I have some trouble with movie recording. I'm using vba21 and I have no ideo of which kind of video I should use . I guess I have to record full trames (I don't really know if it the correct translation) but everytime I'm watching what I have done it show the frame search i have used during my attempt and not a fluid movement like I expect. How do you record a video on VBA for tasing? thx in advance and sorry for my poor english.

Sounds like you are looking at the AVI Recording, that is not used when the TAS is made, that is for creating an .avi video when the TAS is finished. To create the TAS use this: With the ROM loaded: Tools -> Movie -> Record New Movie... Fill in Author (it makes it easier to see you made the movie if you submit here) Fill in Description if you want, but it's not necessary Record options is recommended to use "From start" and it's normally the only option that is allowed to submit. "From reset" is usually OK if you have a good reason to, but ask first if you want to submit the result to TASvideos. "From now" is useful if you want to demonstrate something short somewhere in the game. If something is explained badly or otherwise unclear, say so and I will try to explain better.

thx for your respond. This create a .vbm files after I stop recording the video. Another little question. Tasing is way longer than I would have expecting. How people can made it if it last longer than one day. I mean after I stop the video .I got my vbm files containing my movie and how i can continue it?

That is correct, it should produce a vbm. When you want to resume work on a vbm it can be done in 2 ways. First way is to play back the vbm using Tools -> Movie -> Play Movie... with Read Only mode marked and pausing one or two frames before the movie ends. When you reach pause you go into Tools -> Movie and unmark Read Only mode, then Tools -> Movie -> Resume Record From Now Second way is that you make a save-state, continue TASing for one or two frames, then when you want to resume you load the save state. I prefer the first way but both work equally good. The first way is however necessary if you later want to TAS with a more unstable emulator like Mupen or Dolphin.

In a nutshell, when you feel like you should stop playing, save a state, close VBA. Then whem youre ready to play again, playback the movie, save a state, and load that state.
So yea, how's it going? Currently TASing: Nothing

You also need to make sure the movie is in Read-Write mode and not Read-Only mode.

all right thx you for your quick answer guys. One last thing I want to know before I get ready. I wanna be sure to understand the rerecord frame thing. for exemple I realized that my frame 500 isn't good i wanna go back to frame 499. What you I do? Do I have to use FRAME STUFF? (frame search - frame search end - previous frame...)? Or should I use save and load slot option (and save until my frame 500 is correct)?

If you have savestate for frame 499, load it. Or load earlier savestate (or start playback from beginning) in read-only mode, and play movie until frame 499. Then stop and switch to read-write mode and continue.

VBA has AVI dumping which records a video into an AVI file. Use that. Then there's other software for compressing those files further.

I know absolutely nothing about this game, so I can't say whether it was optimized at all. I can say that I was pretty amused throughout. That axe is really silly.
