Does it really desync during the movie? For us only the sound was off.

I try to generalize them and turn into something clear and reusable. I hate depending on unpredictable and having to make lottery guesses. Any problem can be solved by systems thinking and acting.

Are you trying to play back the movie using a different exe?

Yes, with the new one with level 5-8 But even with the same exe than the TAS it does the same thing :p And feos, it really desyncs, the Cat guy dies

Different exes are pretty much guaranteed to desync, think of it as trying to play back a console movie file on a different revision/language ROM than the movie was made with. For replaying the TAS, make sure that the settings are exactly as in the submission, even OS version can cause problems sadly.

It can get even worse than that. With some games, even hardware on host matters (which has caused loads of fun with at least one run).

I must have missed that, and that is one hell of a sucky problem, did you ever find out which hardware that was causing the problem? Perhaps it can be worked around in code.

In the one really nasty case (RKS "Spiritia"), it was thought to be the graphics card (oddly enough, RKS "Grolla" synced regardless of graphics card).
