http://planetquake.com/sda/other/halflife.html This is a new run being advertised in the qdq channel. It's quite a fast run, uses plenty of tricks, and all of the routes were conjured up by one player, apparently.

Very nice, this game is hard, even on easy, so doing it on hard is really impressive. I like the... uh... bomb climbing :D best, really nice idea.

This was the best speedrun I've seen so far. Especially I liked the laser trap trick, which was used for shortcuts many times.

Did he even fail a shot?? That was awesome, he even skips parts of the game with pseudo-rocket jumps with the nuclear weapon and the above mentioned laser wire trip.

I tried fileplanet 3 times ! 1) disconnection ( thx for NO RESUME ) 2) zip file corrupted 3) 404 error, this file doesn't exist on our server (something like that ) so i'm a little tired of that fileplanet.com ***** ! the demos zip is about 40/50mo, so if anyone wanna share it ... :)

Well, it's a _speedrun_, so they shouldn't have. Haven't downloaded the video yet, and I'm desperately trying to get it. Damn 56k...:/

The new link I had provided in the first post had a typo, which has since been corrected. Sorry about that. :( The movie, as the site says, was made in the same style as the QDQ movies. No slowdown was used, but each segment of the run was played many times until a desirable run was achieved, then the player moved on in this fashion until the run was complete. It's not quite cheating, but more repetition and effort, which meets the intent of the run: to be fun to watch. I'd say it did an excellent job of that.

You'd be willing to burn it on cd and send it to me via snail mail? >_> Meh, I'll just download it. It'll only take 4 to 5 days. :) Depending on if the file will stay up of course...

i watched it. incredible video, loved it. ive never beaten the game, gotten pretty far but never completed it. looked hard as hell...i love the way he passes bosses and manages to go through huge jumps, avoiding damage by grabbing onto ladders and such and climbing up areas using the tripwire bombs very creative :)

Well, downloaded the video and watched it 2 times already. Great video, especially loved the way he prevented damage from falls by clinging onto the ladders and how he passed a complete episode by using the tripwire bombs...awesome. Definitely worth the download. :)

The second speedrun for the game is now available, same place as before (planetquake's SDA). The new time is 51:09.
