Link to video After 10 years of work, this hack of Pokemon Crystal will be released in December. This hack is made by Koolboyman, the same person who made Pokemon Brown(http://tasvideos.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=13481), with help of the others, including the people behind TPP. It's probably not too much to say this hack will be THE best Pokemon Gen 2 hack.

Since the Egg Items from Brown can be useful when traded to Prism which means a Pokemon Stadium 2 hack needs to be made.

https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B0f-_m_8on7BLVhuYnV2a2tuR3M/view I hate to say this but I kinda saw this coming. :( I don't know why Nintendo chose this specific Pokemon hack. I was hoping that Nintendo could at least wait till the day after the release to do this, but this time Nintendo was really as mean as Square Enix. Edit:The version used for TPP is leaked, but that version is not quite the real deal.

When you make fan games of Nintendo IPs, you gotta keep a low profile. No fancy trailers and stuff, it's bad for you.
Current project: Gex 3 any% Paused: Gex 64 any% There are no N64 emulators. Just SM64 emulators with hacky support for all the other games.

IPS file for version v0.91 build 0144: [MODERATOR EDIT: Removed link to patch due to inclusion of copyright-sensitive material. -Mothrayas] Use a patching program like LunarIPS. Reading the README.txt file is a must. May be buggy since it's the TPP version, so keep multiple savestates. And this:

Well, its like the C&D said, they're just protecting their intellectual property. Not their fault a bunch of fans of theirs decided to rip off their brand.
effort on the first draft means less effort on any draft thereafter - some loser

If we were to TAS this, do not include the end credits in any of the encodes and do NOT upload them to YouTube.

There's a difference between publishers here, you don't have to be like this. You can instead be like Bethesda or Rockstar and actively encourage modding. Or like Sega, making games together with the very same people Nintendo constantly fights.

Yeah, I'd say Nintendo's business sense is a little outdated by today's more friendly interactions with fans. It's like they're still trying to stop bootlegs on the NES or something.

Do you have reason as to why encodes should not be uploaded to Youtube? Gameplay videos have already been uploaded.

I meant the end credits shouldn't be used in YouTube encode.

I thought the people who leaked the TPP version already changed the ending credits.

This ROM hack is a bit buggy at this point, according to the BUG REPORTS tab (it is being updated mostly anonymously now). And by a bit buggy, I mean that this game should have received far more beta testing than it evidently appears to have received. (By the way, there are reports that the leaked build was from Dec. 19, 2016, which would conflict with other reports that it was the "TPP Build". In any case, I think this hack should never have been introduced to TwitchPlaysPokemon in such a state.) Because this ROM hack appears to be nowhere near a final version, it makes it very difficult to consider starting a TAS in the first place. ---- I played this hack through the main game and the postgame (20 badges, but not Red). My opinion on this hack is that, although it is clearly ambitious, there were too many technical problems that would not have turned up had adequate testing been done. This is one of the downsides of trying to cram in many new features in a hack. The story was rather forgettable for the most part (though the same could be said about a lot of other hacks) and the postgame feels very empty and visibly incomplete. There were a few moments where the hack has some interesting ideas that break the mold, but not nearly enough of it to make up for its problems.

https://www.eff.org/deeplinks/2013/11/trademark-law-does-not-require-companies-tirelessly-censor-internet Legal bullying isn't protecting anything, nor is it required. I also fail to see what this is protecting period. Nintendo, how many Pokemon games do you have on PC and smartphones (you know... emulators... the only way to play this) to where it's harming you? Oh, none? Okay... let's delve further. What is this competing with? Pokemon Crystal? An out-of-print game over fifteen years old, on a platform no longer sold? It's just Nintendo being the usual bullying jackasses they always are. What's baffling to me is the amount of people so quick to ignorantly flock to defending them as if they're "doing their jobs". They're not. It's a bunch of dumb fossils acting like dumb fossils.

The six eggs planned for Prism are more mysterious than ever. We need a Pokemon Stadium 2 hack that allows you to transfer the eggs. Think Stop 'n' Swop on Banjo-Tooie.

ok,man, you said it already,is it even possible to hack pokemon stadium nowadays? i'd hardly figure that to be possible right now (3d models would be the first problem)

Actually, it's not as much bullying as doing what they need to do to... as wrong as it comes off as. Copyright laws are really anal and particular. In a lot of instances, if you don't protect your IP sufficiently enough, it can come back and haunt you down the road big time. Don't protect it or don't do something with it after a set period of time and in can expire [or be considered as abandonware] And this is just barely scratching the surface, as copyright law is a phenomenal nightmare. Sure, point at Sega going "Well, go for it kids! Let's see what you can do!". Also note where Sega is in the landscape of gaming compared to Nintendo. Sega is at a point in their life where this kind of model just works for them and they are embracing it. This also keeps them relevant and afloat in the industry... and yeah, some decent positive spin is always a good thing. Nintendo has been around for... well since 1889. 127 years and change. You don't last this long without doing what's best for your business. Even if it doesn't exactly jive with everyone. Does it suck? Yep. Are they gonna keep doing it? Yep. Should these people trying to pay homage be a lot smarter about it? Yep. Is it fair? Yep. [See question 1] Would it be cool to see Nintendo embrace some of these fans creations? Oh hell yeah! But how many of them ever considered trying to contact Nintendo as an independent studio and showed them some stuff and seen if Nintendo might want to work with them? Probably None. [Granted to this point, this is where you can argue Nintendo probably would have dropped an immediate NO down and kiboshed most projects and then there's so much more legal crap in this instance too.. but I digress]

I've done some work on Pokémon Stadium 1 (a basic editor / randomizer is available here ), and I'm currently working on how to import modified 3d models back into the game. I'm not gonna lie, this is going to take a while. I haven't worked that much on Stadium 2, on the other hand.
