Reapermon a character that you unlock.
He's lifeless as he is a Cyborg and he's only in this game and not related to Digimon (series) in any form except for this game.
Luckily for us, he's the strongest character in Rumble Arena... and you unlock it first.
As this game likes to be it forces 2 rounds of hell fun for you to die enjoy.
And with that it brings a painful great thing called RNG.
This game's RNG is stupid great... There are IF frames when the game thinks it's right, you can ultimately miss an entire attack cause logic, if you sneeze everything can go wrong. And when you correct something to make anything go just a few frames faster... well suffer enjoy the hellish pleasant crap-ton of frames that you lost by fixing one thing and you have to revert to that version before the fixes.
Albeit that there is some improvements that can be made through input, if you can carry that improvement into that later fights. Congratulations.
Fog: This is a good run, but unfortunately cannot be accepted under Vault rules as save-anchored movies are not allowed.
A movie with a regular character (according to the notes, Renamon) can be submitted and will most likely be accepted, but will be a few minutes slower compared to this submission.
i'm disappointed there was nothing else to be done, but now i know what this game is like
I want all good TAS inside TASvideos, it's my motto.
TAS i'm interested:
Megaman series, specially the RPGs! Where is the mmbn1 all chips TAS we deserve? Where is the Command Mission TAS?
i'm slowly moving away from TASing fighting games for speed, maybe it's time to start finding some entertainment value in TASing.
This movie shows that the vault rules should be changed to allow NG+ as a category. It seems very arbitrary to not allow it. There is no real reason to try to minimize the amount of potential categories, even in the vault, since space is not an issue.

I'd disagree here. If a submission is based on NG+, it should be entertaining enough or at least differ enough from the main game play to be of Moons material. In this case, NG+ did not make the run more entertaining, and did not differ enough from regular game play for this run to be considered Moons material (the run also did not aim for Moons).

I'm going to re-bring something that was stated two different times in IRC (the blunder & correction).
My blunder is admitting that a run with Renamon would be about 2 minutes slower than Reapermon.
However. I was accounting for Easy difficulty not Hard. In this case when it falls to the hardest difficulty the time it would take to actually complete this TAS with a character that you're provided from the start skyrockets in terms on how much slower it would be.
So that's the fact.

I understand that some NG+ TASes are just not entertaining enough for the moon tier. But I still don't see a reason why the vault needs to be limited to any% and 100% runs under NG conditions. NG and NG+ are not just some arbitrary goals, they are two easy to define conditions under the logic of most games.

NG+ is not pure any%, and is not full completion, therefore it is an arbitrary category.
Also, NG+ definitely is not always easy to define - see past controversies about glitches with NG+ categories (Diddy Kong Racing, Stafy, etc.). The Vault rules are designed to be straightforward and absolute, and should not have to deal with weird edge cases or complications.
The Vault also is not going to accept any other categories outside of any% and full completion. "Space is not an issue" is not a good argument; just because we technically can publish everything, does not mean we should.

<dwangoAC> This is a TAS (...). Not suitable for all audiences. May cause undesirable side-effects. May contain emulator abuse. Emulator may be abusive. This product contains glitches known to the state of California to cause egg defects.
<Masterjun> I'm just a guy arranging bits in a sequence which could potentially amuse other people looking at these bits
<adelikat> In Oregon Trail, I sacrificed my own family to save time. In Star trek, I killed helpless comrades in escape pods to save time. Here, I kill my allies to save time. I think I need help.

If you restrict NG+ to cases of "intended NG+", it shouldn't be complicated. Things like the glitched DKR any% would be easily excluded from such a definition.

What's the actual point of having NG+ in Vault exactly?
Warning: When making decisions, I try to collect as much data as possible before actually deciding. I try to abstract away and see the principles behind real world events and people's opinions. I try to generalize them and turn into something clear and reusable. I hate depending on unpredictable and having to make lottery guesses. Any problem can be solved by systems thinking and acting.

"intended" NG+ in most cases consists of allowing the player to load from arbitrary savefiles to curbstomp the game, or possibly skip most of it (intentionally). That does not fly as any% in any scenario, and especially not for Vault purposes.

You already can't just skip to the end by using, let's say, an unlockable ingame cheat, based on the site rules. If you look at a TAS like this one, yes, it really does skip the entire game, but why would such a category hurt the concept of the vault? The TAS is published in the moon tier because people found it entertaining, but if they didn't, it would have been rejected, despite all the optimization and research that went into it.

In the end, it's a philosophical question. You see, I'm a total nerd for statistics and would love to have the vault as a place where pretty much any non-arbitrary category can be dumped into for the sole purpose of keeping track of those records. In my preferred definition of "non-arbitrary", I would include NG+, highscores and genres like sport. Such a definition of the vault would indeed lead to more work for the judges, but in my opinion, that's a price worth paying just so we don't have technically well made TASes that fall outside of our tier system.

To the philosophical questions, we as a site can't give equally philosophical answers. The site needs to function in some way, and the direction of it should encourage people to come up with movies that are enjoyable. It has been so for all the years of TASVideos existence, you can't change that on a whim, especially when contributers share a similar view. Having an archive that provides nothing but statistics is pointless, as it doesn't make the site and/or its content better.
It took almost a decade to switch from "we only want enjoyable runs" to "we prefer enjoyable runs, but we like records too" approach, because the measure of unenjoyable records reached some critical mass, and the tiers were introduced. I can't see any sight of a future milestone that would satisfy the constant demand of "more unenjoyable movies for statistic nerds". Mostly because there's no such demand.
And also because that would quickly make the site unmanageable. Look at the the current queue. It's been like that for months. The current team is working non-stop, and we still can't judge/publish fast enough to compensate for the arriving submissions. Because both judging and publishing take time and effort. And experience. You don't have an unlimited amount of skilled dedicated judges/publishers available, even if there was a "statistic nerd" demand on the scale of the whole site.
And it is right that once you move out of clearly defined and solid categories, your judges will lose their minds handling the endless ambiguity of borderline cases.

Is this being evaluated to be judged again? It was quite the important TAS and newer rules would allow it.
