Hi all,
To emulate my Steam game (VVVVVV), I used the Linux emulator libTAS. I could not get Hourglass to work on my PC. Can I submit a video with this emulator?
Thanks, Vince

Hi. So you were able to properly rerecord with libTAS? If so, please describe your experience. libTAS will be supported in the near future when everything is ready. Also, can you post the movie you have somewhere so we could try to replay it to see how it all works together? Before it's officially supported on the site, we need people to test it, so if you're already interested in this, your help will be appreciated.

I try to generalize them and turn into something clear and reusable. I hate depending on unpredictable and having to make lottery guesses. Any problem can be solved by systems thinking and acting.

To answer some questions for a different game: rerecording works fine in Mari0 after disabling Incremental Savestates, and changing some other options which the program suggests at the bottom of the GUI.
I've encountered very few issues in LibTAS, and all of them could be fixed from simply restarting the game (which was often the cause of the issues). I was able to create a full TAS of Mari0 with LibTAS without much of a hassle.
Hopefully my input helps with getting LibTAS officially supported :)
LibTAS is a little hard to set up, and with DRM-Free Steam games like VVVVVV you have to find the executable. In usage, you can easily enter the author, and it automatically counts rerecords and movie frames. There is an input editor, but it's still experimental. I quite like the program.
Movie file is here. To play it, check the "Movie recording" box, navigate to the file, select "Playback", and start.

In my opinion, I think it would be best to wait until next stable release. Many things are being rewritten, and many things have been added according to the github page.
Needless to say, it should be ready before 2019.

Wait with what? And what's special about 2019?

Wait with what for "Libtas" next stable release? With using it? Then how is the author supposed to get bug reports? And how is it going to be accepted before 2019 if we don't work on it becoming acceptable?

Well, you got me there.
So, I guess we can just make it acceptable now then :)
A handful of games work now and it’s far more stable than hourglass. And we still accept hourglass submissions.
We can probably even convert some of those hourglass submissions to libtas!
