I hate to bother y'all when I have a problem, but I am so lost on how to get the PS1 games to work. I load up the bin file, for some reason it asks me if the PS1 game, which kind of ROM it is, figured I would say, just in case it helps in helping me. I select PlayStation, it acts like it is going to load, even gives me the ability to use my PS controller I got off of eBay to load the keys. But nothing. The Disk Drive LED Light stays out, the screen is black, nothing is happening. In the Firmware folder, I do have the ps-30a, ps-30e, and ps-30j. I am so lost as to what the deal is, but hopefully someone could help me. Thank you.

You need a cuesheet to load PS1 games. Do your dumps have a related *.cue file you can load instead?

I have both the .cue and the .bin. When I try to load the .cue, say I need to load the .bin.

Is the referenced bin file inside the cue file (it is just a text file you can open in notepad) named exactly the same as the actual bin file? Maybe post the filename of your bin file, along with the contents of your cue.

They're in the same folder. The cue file type is "CUE Other File (VLC)" and the .bin is a zipped file, but unzipped it says "data.bin.emc".

Yeah, thats not gonna work. Your bin is compressed as ECM. There a tool available somewhere on the internet called Unecm. You need to download that tool, and drag your bin file onto it. This will extract the bin file to its uncompressed format. You then need to edit the cue file in notepad and make sure the first line is referencing the name of the newly extracted bin file.

OK, did all of that, got it unecmed, gave me a new file, opened cue with notepad, Ctrl-C Ctrl-V the name of the new bin file name so they matched, and still, same as before.

1) Open your .cue with notepad and copy paste this inside:
FILE "ps1game.bin" BINARY
  TRACK 01 MODE2/2352
    INDEX 01 00:00:00
2) Rename your .bin and .cue "ps1game.bin" and "ps1game.cue" respectively. 3) Reload the .cue in the emulator. If this works, you can rename "ps1game" back to whatever you want. Just make sure everything always matches, including the notepad info inside the .cue.

Checking my email, just noticed the reply. I tried it just as you said, but again, no luck. Also tried some PS1 ISO files I managed to get too, no luck there either. But on the bright side, later on that day I asked for help, got fed up enough, decided to hunt down another PS1 emulator, and found one that worked. Maybe this advice you gave might help others who are having this problem, but for me, pretty good to go. Thank you so much though for tried to help. Means a lot, honestly.

You should be able to fix the unecm'd files through the DiscoHawk utility (which comes with BizHawk). I know I had to do this with the PS1 games I have.
