It's not a test WIP, it's the actual run. Does it look that bad? =\ And yes, you do need to backdash on the exact right frame. I use turbo because it saves me the trouble of finding the right frame. If it doesn't work the first time, all I need to do is reload, advance 1 frame and now it will work for sure.

No, it looks great. This was the only problem for me, that it was maybe useless that you backslide 2 times. But now I know the reason, so its great. Other problem is my slow PC, so GBA Emulation has no big speed by me. So it looks slow for me, but I am sure it is great done. I like the critical hits by the Bosses and most enemies. So I see much luck manipulation here.

I had an idea for a funny gimmick run like the reverse boss order Super Metroid run. In this game, you meet Death four times: 1. Introduction in marble corridor A 2. Meeting in clock tower A (activation of the circular warps) 3. Lydie's kidnapping in castle top floor A 4. Fight in Luminous Cavern A With door glitching and quicksave + soft resetting, I could do these 4 in reverse order.

Kaz discovered an awesome "knockback" glitch with the double jump. Here is a quick and dirty movie I made showcasing the glitch on candles. It seems to work on anything that you can kick off of. This TAS is gonna own, but Kaz has to start over from the feather... :( Edit: Here is another movie I made out of boredom. Thats probably not the best place to show it being used rapidly though.

Kaz, I just want to offer some encouragement! This is going to be a phenomenal run to watch when it's complete. At least you don't have to redo any of the luck manipuation with the early enemies before the feather :)

This can't be called a whip launch.

Kaz, where are you? Don't make me put this game on my to-do list!

It's extremely time consuming, there are so many variables to test and consider. I'm not really good at making TAS so I feel quite overwhelmed. Having to redo parts I hated the first time because of the knockback glitch is disheartening. Progress is extremely slow, I'm not even close to where I was when I restarted. I haven't touched it in a while, I'm doing other things. If you want to pick it up, go ahead. The finished product will be better for it. I'll tell you my good ending route (which I'm 99% sure is optimal) and everything I discovered.

Bummer, but it's good to know the status. I'll go ahead and put this on my to-do list then. Thanks for the info :)

Well, it's a bit sad to hear you quit Kaz, but on the other hand, you may be sure that the game will be treated well if JXQ picks it up. Cheers. :)

0x02018841 --> add 08 to see damage, causes a desync eventually Zeric's map errata: Castle Top floor has a breakable wall right after the door opened by maxim's bracelet. The path to the room with maxim's bracelet has a breakable wall as well. Need the crush stone before both. Castle A door warps: Walkway/Aquaduct --> Merman Boss room A Aquaduct/Cavern --> middle of Cavern A (skips having to go through Top Floor A) Clock tower/Walkway --> top of the Walkway B room where ghost faces appear in windows Cavern/Treasury --> merchant of castle treasury B Castle B door warps: Walkway/Aquaduct --> Merman Boss room B Clock tower/Walkway --> top of vertical shaft connecting ball race room and clock tower A Treasury/Skeleton Cave --> next screen of the skeleton cave B (saves some time) Aquaduct/Cavern --> middle of Aquaduct B Black screen warps: Cavern/Treasury (B) Treasury/Skeleton Cave (A) Good ending route: 1. Door glitch to get the lizard tail 2. Get the soul orb, sacred fist 3. Save in the first save room 4. Take the keyhole warp in the room of illusions 5. Go to the skeleton cave and door glitch into it (saves a few frames). 6. Grab the holy book just before entering skull knight's room. 7. Fight skull knight, grab double jump. Use quicksave then soft reset. 8. Reappear at entrance save point. Do the dash over pit + double jump to get platinum tip and hint card. (necessary to do the crouch-warp between circular warps) 9. Take the keyhole warp in the room of illusions again 10. Go in the cavern and take the keyhole warp to the sky walkway A. 11. Go down to the aqueduct and door glitch to the merman boss. 12. Backtrack and save in the aquaduct A save. 13. Open the backway to the clock tower. 14. Door glitch the clock tower door to warp to shrine of dissonance B. 15. Go down to the aqueduct and door glitch to the back way to the clock tower. (saves some time) 16. Whip the giant screw and collect the crushing stone. 17. Door glitch the clock tower door to warp to the ball maze A. 18. Get the bolt book on first pass then vlad's fang. 19. Use quicksave then soft reset to warp to aqueduct A save. 20. Kill max slimer. 21. Meet death to activate circular warps. 22. Use quicksave then soft reset to warp to aqueduct A save. 23. Get vlad's nail then door glitch into the cavern A. 24. Save in the cavern A save. (POSSIBLY DON'T SAVE HERE) 25. Break into the warp with crush stone and crouch warp back to the entrance A warp, then go to entrance B. 26. Grab the lure key (MIGHT BE FASTER TO SAVE IN ENTRANCE B). 27. Manipulate pike master to drop levitation boots. 28. Get crushing boots. 29. Quicksave and soft reset back to cavern A (OR POSSIBLY ENTRANCE B). 30. Take the cavern A warp and crouch warp to entrance A. 31. Save in entrance A. 32. Kill giant bat. (lowers the drawbridge) 33. Get vlad's ring. Quicksave, soft reset to Entrance A. 33. Go down the backway into the skeleton cavern A using the levitation boots and crushing stone. 34. Save in the nearby save room. 35. Grab the floodgate key. 36. Take the nearby warp back to cavern A. 37. Use the floodgate key to drain the lake. 38. Go and kill death, grab the super jump. 39. Quicksave, soft reset back to below entrance A. Equip the crush boots while at it. 40. Warp to entrance B. 41. Super jump and get vlad's rib. 42. Quicksave, soft reset back to below entrance A. 43. Crouch warp to cavern A then go to cavern B. 44. Save in cavern B. 45. Door glitch at the aqueduct B to go further into it (saves time), then go to walkway B. 46. Break the wall in walkway B save for vlad's heart. 47. Go kill shadow. 48. Quick-save, soft reset to cavern B. 49. Take the warp to cavern A and get maxim's bracelet then vlad's eye. 50. Quicksave + soft reset to cavern B. Go to the end.

I would love to see this game done. I just wanted this to get up to the top so people don't forget about it.
