As my first TAS, I was more or less well. It could have been better if the game bosses' RNG had helped.
I played on Normal until the end of the game.
I forgot to take my notes on the TAS(sorry): • Why did you play on Normal?
Well, I could play in easy, which is the game is even shorter playing in this difficulty. The Hard not much changes, only the bosses that take longer to die, so not worth much worth.

• Why did you choose window cleaning and running from point A to point B (Second and third work)?
The answer is simple. They are the quickest to get 300 dollars, since if I choose other jobs, I would have to do 3 jobs to get the necessary amount, with the second job giving 180$ and the fourth job giving 120$.

• Why did you take unnecessary damage?
Some of my damage may actually be unnecessary. But depending on the boss, these damages are inevitable, since some bosses have an RNG.

Comments : I recorded the whole race (from the beginning to the credits) to make sure I was doing it right, since the TAS videos record until the last scene of the game.
I stayed 3 hours to get it done correctly, since I spent most of the game at reduced speed (Not counting the savestates)
I could have reduced that time further, since there were parts that took up unnecessary time.
The gameplay of the game is very strange, the fact that WR played without TAS, implies that he played a lot of that game, several of the movements I made in TAS, would be almost impossible to be done without making mistakes.
Purpose of the game: Get 300 dollars -> Pass the clock tower -> win the 5 stages of the world -> go to the castle and defeat the final boss.

I'm just going to point to the RTA run that's done on Normal. I'll let the Judge give the rundown explanation but here's a light spike trimming off 9167 frames of input at the end. Please, please use the more recommended emulator BizHawk or lsnes in your future TAS. They both have the tools necessary to clean up your input and not mash about as if your input was RTA like. This is faster than the RTA run when timing is compared... there's still some glaring issues which could be improved upon.

RTA timing is from starting a new game to the last hit on the last boss. I truncated the file down to roughly where the RTA record ends. It takes about 7 seconds for the TAS to reach the RTA start point, so in RTA timing this run is somewhere around 18:05, compared to the RTA record of 19:00. Spike's fix is likely accurate for TAS timing though, as the game requires further input to reach the credits.

Hello, VictorManuelMR and welcome to TASVideos. I will be doing a temp encode, but next time you make a TAS for a SNES game, please use either BizHawk or Lsnes as they are more accurate and better to use with.
I like to comment on submissions and look around the site. You have probably seen me before (if you have been around for a while) either on the site, Discord, or any other social media. I recently took up making temporary encodes for new submissions. Also, I never forget to greet Tompa wherever I find him! 2 things to consider: - How much the lag would change if you stick to accurate emulators? I'm curious if there's visible difference in these terrible lags mid-level; - You take damage in a lot of places that doesn't seem to help at all, it just takes more time as the game freezes briefly during the damage animation. I will vote yes if i see a clear explanation about the tricks used, since there's no history of this game in the site.
Games are basically math with a visual representation of this math, that's why I make the scripts, to re-see games as math. My things: YouTube, GitHub, Pastebin, Twitter

On the first stage I don't get some of the movements being done by the author. Just to show what I mean here is a comparison done following the same window order.

Wow this is a game I've considered running for a long time, it's nice to see it on the workbench. However, I also have concerns about routing, just based on eyesight in the second money earning stage. I question why you took a very slow route into the slow buttery substance. Ending this particular stage is only slightly faster than the RTA run, and that runner made a single jumping error, which means if he didn't it likely would have been faster than this TAS. I'm just strictly going by time remaining on the in-game timer. One theory I've always had and wondered about whether it was actually faster to do the 2 other tasks besides the window washing one, since the window washing one takes around a minute to complete alone. It's just a theory but it's something worth testing. The best bet would be to simply optimize each room, take the frame totals added together and compare them with the window washing room. Just a hunch but I feel like this is pretty unoptimized, but that's not surprising since it's your first TAS. Also I'm going purely on conjecture, I haven't actually delved into TASing of the game. The lack of game submission text explaining your choices doesn't help.

There were parts that were inevitable take damage, since I depend on the RNG of bosses. This game doesn't have a lot of information or optimization tips, that means I had to create my route (even if it isn't the best one to use.)

But can I still add a text, explaining why I chose each thing?

About choosing the window: There are three jobs that can be done, the goal is to get 300$ to buy Donald's girlfriend's hat. The first is the job of delivering a letters, which takes longer, since I need to take at least 3 laps to get everything delivered. Giving me a salary of 140$. The second is to clean windows, which is the job that gives more money among the four, 180$ Third is basically a bird rescue mission, which will give me 150$ The fourth job is the fastest to win, it's basically going from point A to point B. Giving me 120$ The fastest route is inevitably the Second and the Fourth job, since both give 300$.

I'm wondering why Hard mode isn't used, is there a good reason for picking the "Normal" difficulty over the hard difficulty? Typically hard mode should be preferred, although I don't know what hard mode actually does so I'm wondering if there was a specific reason for not using it.

I'm aware of the monetary values for each of the missions but have you actually timed the other 2 out and compared them to the window washing mission? I'm not saying it's a flaw in the TAS itself, that lies elsewhere. I was mostly just curious if this idea was worth looking into.

I played the game before doing the TAS, and I know that the first and third jobs are problematic (either because is slow, or because don't give enough money to go faster), being impossible to do them, since, I would have to do 3 jobs just to get the 300$

What's best for RTA might not be what's best for the TAS. It's important to test all possible routes, even if you think they're slower.

Okay, I'll do that in my next TAS (Using the right emulator this time)

I asked myself the same question! And concerning the damages, I don't know if it's faster than through without, because in the level after the ghost boss, it takes damage on thorns after a long fall and a few moments later on a series of brambles... Donald is stopped during a few frames! Some bosses aren't seem optimised, but maybe I'm wrong... Not verified yet! Boss 1 and Ghost boss seem to be RNG !? And boss 2 seem not to be attacked at the first frame at some moments.

Okay I actually did some very rudimentary testing and it seems that the mail delivering task would take up too much time. I created a very basic route with moderate routing mistakes and it ended up being around 45s for this mission alone. For some reason in my head this should've been faster. I estimate that a purely optimized route for this would be around 40s or so. I'm pretty confident the bird rescuing mission will take quite a while since it has a cutscene after you complete it that can't be skipped afaik. So yeah, the RTA route is probably the way to go here unfortunately (I despise the window washing task is the only reason I wanted to test this). I will probably keep going with optimizing the mail delivery route for a bit just to see if there's not something I missed but now I don't have high hopes for the route.
