Greetings! New to this website. I searched for TAS videos of NES Battle City and then found a movie in the mode of 2 players (also noting there are tradeoffs between speed and entertainment). So I'm just wondering why there is no movie in 1 player mode? Is it simply because I've missed something, or the game itself is not so technical or entertaining? Simple as the game is, it's not all about reaching bombs over and over again, especially when there is just one tank, route choice seems rather important. You cannot always beat enemies so fast to ensure a continuous enemy generation. And if you found a bomb in a far position, there is no player 2 who happens to appear at the opposite corner of the map and reach it just in time. So more trial is needed to get the fastest route and manipulate luck. There are still some seemingly apparent improvement to save time. Namingly ——Route choice, especially in 1 player mode as I mentioned above; ——Moving speed. Take turns every half pixel is good enough, but still several frames might be saved. ——Freezing time. In two players mode, besides killing less to reduce the time of score calculator, we could save more (no new bug to save lots of frames, just an easy approach). If possible, I'd like to submit such a speedrun video (NES Battle City with 1 player) but I'm not sure whether this could be accepted. And I want to confirm if there exists a speedrun record of it. Surely there should be one, I suppose. Thanks very much!

I took another look, and it seems to me the only reason we don't have a 1 player movie is because no one ever created or submitted one. There's nothing holding one back from being submitted, accepted, or published, so if you have one, feel free to submit!

Thanks for your encouragement! Actually it's not that easy for a new hand like me, so efforts will be made to ensure a submission of high quality.

Oh it has been a year since I joined this forum but I haven't got much progress on this project. Hope I can make some progress on it this year!
