Have to say that this run is looking pretty awesome so far, keep it up man. Kinda funny how you can open a locked door with the lock in the other side of the door.

Put it this way: The Boss Key in Arbiter's is so badly protected, it's obtainable early in Bug Limit. The method done in the TAS is the normal method done in normal (non bug limit) runs, and uses a clip between the pillar and the wall. The other method, used in normal bug limit runs as it's entirely bug-free rather than a clip between two objects, is to roll across the sand and then transform at the other side to wolf attack and climb up. It's possible to even get this without a roll stab, though the roll stab adds a fair bit of safety to this method. As if that weren't enough, the only way to cross the pit coming back is via the spinner tracks. If you fall in the pit the ledge is too high to grab and you'll void in the sand. The only side which is low enough to grab the ledge is the side with the boss key... ya know the side you're trying to keep people from reaching... wtf were you thinking Ninty?

Link to video Good news: the TAS is done! Over Winter break I essentially decided to work overtime on completing this TAS. Motivated by the new skips that were found as well as being closer to the end, I put in about 8-10 hours of TASing a day from December 26th through January 3rd and managed to finish the last 3 dungeons to complete the run. The live reveal will take place on January 20th at 12 PM PST on my Twitch channel: https://www.twitch.tv/events/HQ9OlTQcReCwbYHqgujpmw I will be submitting the TAS here shortly after the reveal. (The entire dtm syncs on my machine without needing to load savestates or use hacks or anything! Woohoo!)

OMG, the hype is real, this was not expected (at least, for me) at all. Can't wait to see the entirety of it. Great work man.

Nice, total immersion in the creation process can be very fruitful if you can pace yourself. Wasn't expecting this to be done nearly as soon but I'm really looking forward to the release! From what I've already seen I have no doubt you did the game justice.

I'm looking forward to it. Admittedly it's slightly annoying I'll be working when it's being streamed, but it's a beggars can't be choosers situation. It's great after all these years. Especially when considering what happened to Rachel that the TAS has finally been done.

It's also the better Zelda game. As for the submission, gymnast86 is having issues as the file is too big for submitting. The TAS is available to watch on gymnast's YouTube I'll just relink it here for those at home who are a bit lazy to do a few mouse clicks: Author's Commentary Version with special guests Pheenoh (the Meano), & Dragonbane0 Link to video

The *input file* is too big to submit?

Input files being too big is usually the result of not deleting elongated input after hex editing.

I've already been in contact with gymnast86 a few days ago. The movie file can be submitted, it just hasn't been done yet because gymnast86 said he needs to finish writing the submission text first.
http://www.youtube.com/Noxxa <dwangoAC> This is a TAS (...). Not suitable for all audiences. May cause undesirable side-effects. May contain emulator abuse. Emulator may be abusive. This product contains glitches known to the state of California to cause egg defects. <Masterjun> I'm just a guy arranging bits in a sequence which could potentially amuse other people looking at these bits <adelikat> In Oregon Trail, I sacrificed my own family to save time. In Star trek, I killed helpless comrades in escape pods to save time. Here, I kill my allies to save time. I think I need help.

Some times later, I would like to know if there are any news concerning this? :) Looking forward to this being submitted to TASvideos!

Submission texts are hard IIRC.

I asked gymnast about this on his stream and he told me that he was about halfway through writing his submission notes. This was about a week ago iirc. He said he's trying really hard to make it perfect and currently has about 10,000 words. But he's spending some time to make the submission notes more concise and less confusing without removing any valuable information. I don't know when the notes will be done, so all I can say is that it'll be done when it's done.

Yeah, I wasn't expecting to take so long writing the submission comments. I kind of mentally feel as though my work on the TAS is over, so recounting how everything works together in the route, as well as the techniques used throughout the run feels draining to write about. I'm trying to power through and finish it soon though.

100% TAS Goron Mines (Update): Link to video Quote from description about what was updated:
When I posted the last work in progress, I made a mistake regarding the route, I was supposed to equip Zora Armor while in Goron Mines, but I misread the route and forgot to equip it. This video shows Goron Mines with the improvement, the first 4 minutes of the dungeon are unchanged from the last work in progress, but then Zora Armor is equipped before entering the water room with the gate which ended up saving 8 frames. Another minor improvement is that I got an earlier spin attack on Dangoro which saved nearly a second.
