Some sequences might not be comfortable to some users, proceed with caution.
One Chance follows the scientist Dr. John Pilgrim and the unfortunate news that the cure for cancer that they created, turned to be "deadly".
So, as Dr. Pilgrim, what would you do in your last 6 days on earth?
Everything.
This is the order of the merged movie file:
One specific thing done is there's extra padding before resetting and going to the next ending.
We are waiting for Dr. John Pilgrim to close his eyes completely, and lose his battle to the virus (and exit frame for the suicide ending).
For Murdered's case there's extended input where Dr. Pilgrim runs towards the knife instead of where previously the input ended early.
Prerequisites. This is a modified flash file.
It is modified due to the non-deterministic loading thanks to the Newgrounds API.
You cannot nuke the internet, as that will result in a longer load in Ruffle comparatively to flash which loads the title instantly.
So how does one remove things and what's removed?
Firstly you need JPEXS Free Flash Decompiler. After grabbing a clean version of the game only 2 things need to be adjusted, both need to be removed.
Under the "frames" folder in frame 1, remove:
PlaceObject2 (32: Preloader Bar (NewgroundsAPI))(:Preloader Bar (NewgroundsAPI)) Depth: 9
Under the "scripts" folder in frame 1, remove:
DoAction. Specifically the one that has "stop ();"
This will get the game running immediately without issue.
A bonus for future encoders/publishers if the video ever gets taken down remove "DefineSounds (538)" from the sounds folder.
DEALING WITH THE PERMANENT ENDING.
This is now a unique issue as the game is One Chance which literally means you only have ONE CHANCE and we're breaking it with a modification of the flash file.
Remove from frame 1, DoAction[2]: var savefile = SharedObject.getLocal("onechance");
This acts as if we're using Adobe Flash player which allows disabling local storage access.
Anyways, despite looking simple of a game where you just hold right, as I found out 2 years after the WR the game has speedtech.
By going into Molly's Room and the Bathroom you shave a few frames compared to not doing this:
Lastly. --no-gui is used and input is port-forwarded to the latest build of ruffle used for this submission.

feos: Claiming for judging.
feos: I think this can obsolete [4830] Flash One Chance "best ending" by Spikestuff in 06:52.21 because best ending is the only way to not lose in this game, so arguably it's fastest completion. And all endings includes the goals of all individual endings.
I still don't have a strong opinion on whether the PG submissions for this game should remain up, but that includes lack of good reasoning to reject them, even if they are also mostly included in this run.
The branch label feels necessary because endings in this game don't count as individual modes, so getting them all is not any%.

despoa: Processing...
