Sure I'll will.. just that I got a desync in the passageway and Im trying to fix it with the hex-edit tools.. Im not that good at math and recalulate 17min, 4seconds and 13 frames could take me some time. I just getting confusing with all the numbers and frames after a while ;) Highness friend hexedit tools has timecount. But that program calculates it wrong. 9999:99 insted of min(60):sec(60):frames(60). :(
I always caled it seperatly. 17*60*60=61200 4*60=240 61200+240+13=61453 But then again. I don't like math. I'm not that good at it either so.. I'm doing it the slow way, and it works for me. :D

Lol, that was teh awesome. Massive Crash abuse and people seemed to die very conveniently to get max out of the experience.. rofl. So funny to watch :D Its not half as clutzy as I thought it might end up, you are constantly going in straight lines and still getting perfect encounters, looks really good.

My observations: Your use of Crash is really special. The passageway was amazing, that would be a movie highlight. For anyone less familiar with this game, only Sandworms, Prophallus, Haunt, Spector and most bosses (ie. excluding Igglanova) resist Crash at all... a very useful ability. It's awesome that you got Rika's level caught up so well, Frenom. The Juza fight was great... but I think I can suggest a minor improvement. Triblaster is completely damage-efficient and probably time-efficient as well. It seems to me that you were careful not to use foi, wat and tsu on the same turn (instead mixing in Vortex and Crosscut on alternate turns). I think that the animation time would be shorter and the damage would be 24 points higher on average compared to the three spells individually. If your macro starts with the slowest character (Hahn, I guess?) it will work nearly all the time. Had you already looked at that? I also thought I saw you pass a wall by an extra tile in the Tonoe basement, but maybe that area is just designed strangely. It was one of the walls right before the Alshline. Good progress overall... this is maybe 1/8 of the game already (or more?). Do you think you'd need another version? How does this run compare to Sleepz's now? EDIT: Added Haunt and Spector to list of unCrashables. Whoops.

I dont know how I am compare to Sleeps version. The link is broken and no-one seams to have it. Yes, I know about the macros at Juza, but here the thing, I trired to think out the best way to setup the macros at the passeway so good I could so that I could re-use them later at Juza... Putting up macros take some time aswell. First versions are kinda tricky sometimes when there is nothing to compare to. All the strategy how to make all easier/lvl'n and so on. If I only had Sleeps version I would have something to compete with. :/ I dont think this will be my first and last run on this game ^^ It's a great game.

It sure is! Would wat, foi and thu not be useful in the passageway? I didn't think about the macro setup time. If it would only be an advantage to use it once or twice then it's definitely not worth making the macro for. Since Hahn dies kind of quickly, it probably won't help. You're right. By the way, you can push up from macro A to use the last macro (H, I think?) in one menu move. That could save a little time with making or using macros. I watched this last night so I forget whether you did that or not, but I don't think you did.

It does'nt really matters if you use A, B or H, since you can reach them all from A in a single frame. =) From one thing to an another thing. hehe... I was searching through some cds the other day for something and bumped into this picture that I did in paint when Genecyst still was active and was the best emulator out there ;) 1996-98 if Im not recall wrong. Remember that I had it as a wallpaper. hehe..

Ah, okay, sorry. I should've known you'd catch something so obvious! That wallpaper is actually quite nice. Good 16-bit graphics age very well.

I think I got sleepz version, but I may have messed it up, I was loading a state from frenoms movie and it started recording, truncating off atleast 6 minutes :( But at 24 minutes he was just after alys had died.

Ah, just watched yours Frenom. I think it's definitely better than Sleepz' so far. I laughed out loud when you used crash on the miniboss that came out of Birth Valley. It was perfect! I too noticed a couple of minor path problems (where you make two turns instead of one, which I believe you did twice in Zio's Fort), but overall it's pretty perfect. You also didn't make the mistake of going on the healing pad at the Land Rover facility which Sleepz did. One more possible minor optimization: You created a whole Hewn macro just to use it once near the very end of the cave (forget the cave name, the one with the blobbies that do fusion). Perhaps it would be better to just avoid the last fight where you use it and that way you'd never have to create it. Don't bother going back to redo things though, since I think you're pretty on target for optimum time at the moment.

Oh, thanks alot for the gmv-file. Hewn macro at the fusion? Are you sure you dont mean the Newtz? I know that little mistake and I regret that I even did that Macro. I really thought that I could pick that many fights. How could I even miss that pad? that have to be corrected. Im actually not to far away from it. I compared mine and sleepz versions and when Alys dies im 38 sec ahead. I could have been 48 if I had walked on that Pad. :P

Oh no no, I said it was _good_ that you didn't hit the pad (because your team should all be 100% healed there because of what demi does after the Juza fight.).

despite how it may seem, medic power does exactly what it would in battle, almost nothing (heals a small amount of hp for all non androids characters regardless of life/death). if you watch the movie until the end, and then check the status screen you'd see that :P very nice so far, I cant wait to see what kind of weird shit you pull on them sandworms.

Oh really? Wow I didn't know that. I would have thought it would be full healing because of the difficulty of the Juza fight. Then again I didn't bother to check the levels after the vid. It just seems like it's skippable to me unless it's critical that all the characters need to be full health. Since this is near where Sleepz' run ended, I'm excited to see how the next bit looks. Keep up the good work Frenom!

What ROM are you using for this? I am using Phantasy Star - The End of the Millenium (U) [!].bin and yet I still get desynchs as soon as you are done talking with the principal. Also, I'm using Gens9f, if that changes anything.

Thats right. Demi's Medic Power wont give back your TP and Tech points, just HP. So walking on the pad saves alot of time rather then go at the inn at Termi. Zurreco: I think It is the .smd version. I had some desyncs there too.. and then I watched the run again It worked. Strange. Your version of Gens shouldnt be a problem. I got all the versions from scratch and they all run the movie without any problems. =/

It desync'd for me there, too when I used version 9 instead of 9a... I think. One works, the other doesn't.

Hmm.. okey? Oh well.. forget about that crappy run of mine. Check this one out instead that I've been working on. ;) It's way faster. Im in a hurry so I dont have the time to check. The beginning is the same. But I have re-done everything in this run when I leave from Birth Valley to Rune. Minor things that I corrected in this run: I dont do that annoying Hewn macro this time. Another and faster path from the store to Granfather Dorin. I stop lvl'ng when Gryz Crash is empty. I corrected 2 turns in Zios fort. All the Macros in Passeways is gone. And I stepped on the Pad to recover everyone. =) http://frenom.areta.org/smv/psiv.zip

Hrm, this new movie desynced for me during the battle with Zio... or rather, the desynch seemed to start during the conversation beforehand.

yep, same happened to me, kinda weird. the movie ends up stopping before you leave to go get the landrover. could be the fact i had 6/6 and not 6/3 set, but that never stopped the others from working perfectly.

Yep, same thing. Definitely desynched before the actual battle. Sometime early on in the text with Zio before the fight. I had the proper controller settings set and I was using test9c. I haven't yet tried it with 9f. Strange. But the corrections you made up to that point were awesome Frenom. ;)

I got the same problem. Right before Zio the text started scrolling more slowly than is typical, and then the Zio fight was just wonky. I like the effect that Juza's last attack has on your team. I think that battle looks even better now. Since you were making macros right before Juza I was thinking about the Triblaster thing I mentioned before, but then I realized that Juza is weak to the Thu technique but not Triblaster. It's definitely stronger the way you're doing it! Combos generally help (against enemies with defense/magic defense like Juza) but most of them take too long. It would still be cool to see them sometime in this run if it's time-efficient.

How is it going, Frenom? I hope you haven't met the same fate as Sleepz... at the same point in the game! Do you have any idea how long you'll want to fight Sand Worms for? Or do you have another idea for levelling? I have a feeling you might want to at least earn Efess, which is level 29 for Rune (and four charges at level 33!). The good news is that after that, you'd barely have to level again. My PSIV dump site has all of the experience needed for each level now, and each person's stats at each level. This might come in handy for planning. I'm happy to help with any questions you have, too.
