Geez, you have made some progress!! If you find a way to beat this guy you're nearly done with the TAS (after garuberk dark force the return and well, you know, the big hole in motavia). That's astounding. Anyway, I was floored when I saw your extremely aggressive strategy for the 3 air castle guys. Nice kill. If you can't manipulate Lasheic's attacks then I don't really know. Maybe level build in the castle (I'm not sure how much that would help). Good luck and keep trying though.

Did you try saner+barrier? would that give you just enough of a boost so that you could get in before lashiec each turn?

Yep I have. But since I have control over the fight by starting the rounds different frames I can manipulate the enemies. But It seams that you only can get one of thoose paralyzed every second fights. And thats is very bad. He only got "damage all" attacks besides that paralyz... and they have armor that they had from the start.

Ah, I see. I guess your lack of levelling has come back to bite you in the ass :P Perhaps buying some armor might be a good idea? although you probably dont have too much cash unless those sand worms are generous.

Yeah. I dont have afford with anything, I only have 4000meseta. An Idea is to go back to lvling worm thingy and when I need refuel of HP and MP I RYUKA to the medic station and step on that pad and HINAS out and RYUKA back... and I lose 2sec. But I only have 5582 meseta at the start with the sandworms.. so that wont help me that much. I guess that I have to plan my route better. If im not guessing wrong you had a gear to Chaz at the air castle and a robe to Rune in the espermansion..

Well, while I'm not entirely sure on those two, you're probably right. I dont think the money issue from sandworms makes much difference, as that much wont buy you anything anyway. The real main thing I'm wondering about your plan so far is this: how exactly do you intend to kill <last boss name>? It has 3 forms, and if your current difficulty against lashiec is anything to go by, it'll be much worse at that point. It has 3 forms, uses megid (which would almost certainly be instant death), and is generally quite painful. I'd think that by the third form, at most you'd have 2 people left alive which it'd likely kill the next round with a megid, or a single attack. Overall, I still think levelling Rika a bit wouldn't hurt, as she gets some useful techniques and is quite strong. Did you consider getting the silver tusk for her too? As her strongest weapon, it also has a holy property, but i dont recall how far out of the way it is, but i think you can get it on dezolis when you first get the ice digger.

The Guardian Claw(s) are Rika's best weapon, aren't they? You even find them in the Strength Tower on Ryucross so it wouldn't be a huge detour to get them. A lot of really good equipment is in the two mandatory towers. As for the third (which you'd need to return to Ryucross with the Elsydeon to enter) has another Guardian Mail, not to mention Megid. But Chaz probably doesn't need Megid for a TAS.

Ugh, yea. I really would have thought you'd have a lot more meseta at this point in the game than that. You're right about the thing in the air castle I think. It would be nice if there were a good place to level quickly without having to kill just one sandworm at a time. Well, at least I guess there would be if you were able to defeat Lashiec but I guess that's the problem! Ugh..

well, iirc, the first form of profound darkness doesn't do jack (basically weak physical attacks) but there are of course the other two which have like 18000 health combined. i thought darkness was easier than lasheic (who i thought was about as hard as the fight against the three big bastards in his castle) but i suppose i could see that not being the case in a speedrun of any sort. you would have raja in that fight though. anyway, is there some way you could level in the aircastle? i don't remember what the encounters there are, but there is a hp/tp recharge spot right there.

hmm.. wouldnt it be easier to loot the underground of the gumbious.. i know it has 2 potions worth quite easily 10k.. i know that involves a little backtracking but yeah i think that may be the easiest thing to do.. (By the way i've been lurking around these forums for ages and i finally decided to post.. now that I think I have something important to say.. anyway keep up the good work. I cant wait for this project to be completed)

Crap, after Frenom fell away from the site for a while, so did I. I'm sad that I've been missing this! I'm pumped to watch the WIP when I get home. Was Demi still attacking during Sandworms? Laco Rod will only work on "evil" enemies, its damage is probably only moderate even against them. It's not useless, but a lot of enemies will only take 1 damage from it. It's probably not worth the time for your purposes.

Have you tried leveling in the air castle, Frenom?

I can't think of many helpful things that you wouldn't already know, but anyways... -Lashiec is weak to fire, thu and efess. -He has an attack called posession that causes sleep but isn't used frequently. If this targets Wren that's a wasted turn. -Thndhalbrt is a lightning-type attack but it uses your defense rather than magic defense to calculate damage. Warla would reduce its damage by Kyra's mental stat for all characters, but it will still probably clobber Wren (Deban does the same thing as Warla but it'll have a lesser effect). Furthermore, there's only one piece of equipment that resists electric attacks and you can't have it yet. -Anothrgate is physical but does use magic defense as resistance, so barrier will affect its damage. -There's nothing to dodge in this battle, so saner's only use is to act more quickly. -Your best damage, obviously, is going to be from grandcross, rayblade and efess, then nathu and nafoi (as with almost every boss in this game). -He'll cast reinforce when his HP gets low, I think you can use the psyco-wand to nullify that.

incidentally, can you take demi into your party, steal her gun and give it to wren, then bring raja for profound darkness?
This is a good idea, but it would be a minor waste of time if Wren weren't going to be using his regular attack. That might be useful.

Regarding Lashiec, if you're still stuck... A few battles using Negatis could make a big difference to the usefulness of Wren and Kyra. If you needed extra skill uses (ie. Warla) and HP you could do it before that healing point in the Air Castle.

Is the author still working on this run, or it is officially dead? ( 'Twould be too bad if it was. This is one of the few RPGs that I'm hoping gets the TAS treatment.

In an N64 thread, I saw Hoe say he'd like to see bounties for TAS games and he'd throw in $5 on Blast Corps. If I were to spend money on any TAS video, it'd be this one. I'm not sure if that's an actual offer or not. Maybe somebody could convince me? :P

Agreed. I think Freenom has disappeared from this board (maybe not from the forum, though), thus anyone should be able to pick up his WIP and proceed from there. He's really not far from the end anyway. Perhaps you could do it, FF?
