I got around to watching your WIP. Good stuff, it looked tightly optimized, was fast paced and overall entertaining. I just wanted to chip in and say keep up the good job!

<klmz> it reminds me of that people used to keep quoting adelikat's IRC statements in the old good days <adelikat> no doubt <adelikat> klmz, they still do

Thanks for the support, guys! Just when I thought that nobody gave a damn about this game! Let me warn you now, this TAS will take quite a while; first, I'll finish one run of it and make it as good as I can, then I'll redo that run one time! Why, you ask? No you don't. You already know that I'm striving for a much tighter TAS this time around. I'll get back with WIPs after each completed sub-level!

Haha, wow. I like this game, and I love seeing it played like this. The previous version was really good and I can still see the improvements clearly here. Looking forward to it!

Hey guys. Sorry for taking so long, I got stuck in one of the room. http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/1787416046/Ninja%20Five-0%20%23%20GBA.vbm Harbour level 1 done, 177 ahead. Gained 91 frames in this level, most of them came in the vertical sections. I'll patch up a video encode soon.

I do apologize for not working on this. http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/282821517/Ninja%20Five-0%20%23%20GBA.vbm Well have fun. In terms of percentage, this TAS is 28.45% finished. Also, 213 frames ahead.

http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/680915757/Ninja%20Five-0%20%23%20GBA.vbm Is nicer. Made some major improvement in the room which is behind the blue door (bottom left room) due to RNG being a hoe, I had to re-think my strategy and gained 58 frames in that room.

http://hansomspelartvspel.se/NinjaFive.mp4 Airport 1 down. The green door is entered incorrectly in this encode but is fixed in the vbm. Also I forgot to add subtitles to this encode so please don't distribute this one to people not knowing what a TAS is.

A meager ten second cumulative gain after nearly two years? I don't recognize you anymore!

Hey there! We're 43,3% through! There's still time to find that single 45 second improvement!

Decided to take a look at this game after Jules brought up that there was an improvement WIP that was never finished. So far I've only worked on the first screen of the game but I managed to save 1 frame over Cardboard's last uploaded wip: User movie #64983148124615011 I think I'll make this my new project for a while. EDIT: Finished the first bank stage 5 frames ahead of Cardboard's old WIP disregarding emulation differences: User movie #65007946151700802 (video removed) EDIT2: realized I miscounted and saved a frame on the last screen when I didn't. Later actually saved 1 frame there so we all good now. EDIT3: Stage 2: (video removed) EDIT4: Finally confirmed the time save, 41 frames on this stage vs the wip. EDIT5: Finished the first boss: User movie #65162325048199356 Link to video Time save thus far: https://i.imgur.com/4CxKTiD.png I lost one frame in 3-2 because the screen clearing attack animation depends on RNG and there doesn't appear to be any way to manipulate it aside from waiting.

New post because UHHHHHHHHH WHAT JUST HAPPENED: Link to video User movie #65274877142974390 EDIT: ok so I figured out what is going on. When you slide off a ledge two things happen: 0x044774 in combined WRAM gets set to 8 and your current y-position temporarily gets stored somewhere (haven't bothered finding where yet). If you fall far enough from this point, you lose the special state, but you can maintain it by grappling and avoid ever going below that initial position. If you land on the ground, that will also make you lose this state. Then if you get hit, your y-position will be reset to what it was stored to. Problem is... this complicated setup makes it near worthless. In order to grab keys you need to land on the ground. Additionally getting hit in this game makes you go down a powerup level. EDIT2: Saved a frame earlier in Bank 1 but due to RNG with the screen clearing attack I'd have to save additional frames to make the time save stick. Still posting here for posterity's sake: User movie #65383598605322965 EDIT3: Link to video User movie #65433928737930587 EDIT4: slightly out of date, saved 3 frames on the boss.
