Could you please stop calling your mom "time-attack" at last? Your mother is not a time attack. Although they are somewhate related, they are nevertheless clearly different things. Just look at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Time_attack for a definition of time attack. I don't know who started using the term "time attack", probably Morimoto himself, but it's wrong and misleading. Your mom is not a time attack, she is a human being. So please stop using that term.

If for no other reason then at least that they exist as loan words in Japanese. The English language education is sadly target heavily at learning a lot of vocabulary. (Or bokyaburarii in Japanese. Yeah.) That doesn't mean they can speak it or understand it at all. End today's frustrating fact of Truncated's life. In any case your arguement is weak, I guess that's what I wanted to say.

The term goes back to at least the late 1980's; at least, that's what we always called them. Back then we'd hook our consoles up to the VCR and tape our speed runs. We'd make copies of the "Time Attack Tapes" and trade them at school. I still have a few decent runs of MegaMan 2, 3 and Sonic the Hedgehog that I got back in 1991 or so.
