I thought we would buy 10 bombs and get 10 bombs from the bushes or did you spend the money earlier? I just think that manipulating 4 bomb drops out of those bushes without wasting time will be really difficult...

Yeah I allways struggle with this, too. It's really difficult to express yourself clearly this way. In german it would be "euer" as opposed to "dein" for 2nd person singular...

Yeah and 99% of those in this thread. XD I even got an avatar for the occasion. Btw. I have a suggestion for the first cycle. It will cost a tremendous amount of luck manipulation but speed things up A LOT. - get 2r before CT and deposit it as soon as you have danced with the scarecrow (2r) - get to ECT, do a full run through termina field to WCT (101r) - get to ECT, get fairy, do a half run through termina field to NCT, get 99r, get magic, deposit the rupees (200r) Now like I said this will need an obscene amount of luck manipulation, but should be doable. Between ECT and NCT are 24 bushes. If we can manipulate 1-2 red rupees and some blue rupees out of them we should be able to get 99r. We could even make it without the red rupees, but that would take quite a lot of blue rupees... This would save a shitload of time, as we would probably be at the clock tower at 12 and skip the NCT introduction scene...

In french, that's "votre"/"vos" depending on the direct object's number. :P English versions that don't sound too "unproper" would be "your-all" "you-all's" I like how last week people were saying "hey SL go on, nothing major will be discovered" and now like 5 pages a 10 routes later, ideas are still evolving. I can't wait :D

we need those 50 rupees because we buy 20 chus. if we would have left 10 chus, we would only need 10 chus and getting 10 rupees from somewhere shouldn't be too hard on the other hand could we use those 10 chus for a few speed tricks and this should be cooler and faster than using them just to do SHT before STT
I know I said something different in my post above but I thought it over and think we should investigate this further. If my math-skills have come back to me, we can substitute 5 mega hovers with normal hovers if we have additional 10 chus. But that only saves us 10 seconds. On the other hand we loose 4 seconds on twinmold and switching in, charging an shooting that light arrow will take quite some time. I estimate all in all it will cost us 15 seconds. So if we have a convinient 10r drop on our way it will probably be faster to just keep the 10 Chus and do SHT before STT. But it still is a tough call...

Because the old singular "thou" got abandoned. Pretty sure that "you" was informal-singular and plural only, and thus often an insult in the wrong circumstances (like tu or du in French or German...?) but only count me as hearsay- I ha'e no verifiable source.

*sigh* I'd help with the route planning, but the number of explosives things take seems to be changing constantly. This was so much easier when I was the only person discovering MM stuff. Perhaps I should work on 100% tricks. And on a different note.

Other way around, actually. "Thou" was informal and "you" was formal. not sure about the plural thing. Anyways, there is a plural 2nd person pronoun in English. It just happens to be the same as the singular one.

yeah, things dramaticly changed with MM within the last 2 month ;) to the route: killing twimmold with only normal arrows doesn't cost much time. maybe 4 seconds buying 20 instead of the 10 chus costs another 2 seconds, but the speed tricks will save much more time ;)

Like I said the speed tricks will only save 10 seconds (unless ofcourse you can tell me where the extra chus save more time) and we have to have the money to buy those extra chus which will cost about 10 seconds. Together with the 4 seconds twinmold and 1 second buying the chus it will be longer than just keeping the chus.

I'm copying the comments I made on youtube in here: Could be a trick of the eyes, since everything there is really narrow. But it really looks damn fast. If you can replicate this in termina field it would be awesome. Maybe it is so fast because you got into ESS right away and thus took the full recoil speed into it with you... Edit (also posted on youtube): if it is as fast as the normal SS (or nearly) there could be a lot of situations where it is a good idea to just don't do the normal SS and go into this fast ISS immediately, since you have to go around a lot of corners. Situations I can think about of the top of my head: GB entrance Ikana (you have to slide around a corner there) Swamp - the Zora slide Woods of Mistery

This will only apply to MM, since if you have a very light tilt on the analogue while taking damage then you can maintain that intial speed. A bomb explosion in MM is much more powerful than one in OoT. Someone with speed values will need to check for comparisions sake.

I made a quick speed test and it is exactly as fast as a normal superslide. I was 5 frames slower, but those frames came from the time I have to wait, until I can do ESS I'll upload it soon edit: here you have it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ysmi7yE8jmo

Very Nice find MrGrunz. Can you keep the speed even around corners? Can't watch any videos for an hour or so, at school right now. Anyways, regarding extra bombchus after GBT, here is the portion of my route from buying chus after Woodfall to buying chus after Woodfall Part 2 Get Bow and deathwarp out, Warp to CT, buy 20 chus (11B) (20C) (0R) Exit via WCT, slide to grass near cliff, get 2 bomb drops and 20 rupees, slide into Milk Road (19B) (20R) ISG slide to rock, pull out bomb while ESSing, hover in corner next to rock to Ranch, Slide to Houses, Get Bottle (16B) (17C) Warp to Great Bay, get hookshot, get 2 Eggs (hookshot room and first recoil flip) (13B) (16C) - 2 Bombchu hovers instead of a superflip would save time Warp to North Bay, Deposit Eggs, Go back for last 2 eggs (OoB and second recoil Flip) (7B 14C) - This portion uses 8 explosives with a minimum of 3 bombs for ISG and the superflips. Using 3 bombchus over bombs can save time. Warp to North Bay, Do Pinnacle Rock, get NWBN Go to GBT, Do pots twice on the way, get bomb drop from pot near turtle (12B) (200R) Finish GBT, get bomb drop from pot, warp to Woodfall (11B) (9C) - 2 chu hovers can be used instead of bomb hovers while getting OoB That's 7 chus total, along with an extra explosive that I missed while recoil flipping the second egg room. That's at least 8 of the 9 bombchus we have left used to save time, and we also save 7 bombs, allowing us to buy 20 chus but not the 10 bombs that would be required for STT (we're warping to Clock town for the STT Chu run where it says we're warping to Woodfall in that route). Also, we skip the bomb drop from the grass in Ikana, because we can superslide straight to Stone Tower and have 17 bombs and 20 bombchus. Then we get one bomb drop from the temple (which is required anyways) and we have 22 - exactly how many we need to complete the temple. Then we collect the 50 rupees after the temple, warp to Clock town, pick up 20 of each explosive, and complete SHT and the rest of the game the same from there.

yeah, it keeps the speed around corners I thought, we would beat woodfall in one trip now :/ didn't you read my new route until milk road yet? we are able to beat woodfall with old skip without using bomb hovers or something and we also found another bomb drop on the way to woodfall, what allows us to use much more superslides because of my new ESS trick, getting 5 bombs from the spider in woodfall is absolutely quicker now, because we'll slide from the GB entrance to the water in one slide now ;)

Yes, I did read your route, and yes, I know we are doing Woodfall in one trip. What I did was take a snippet of my old route and pointed out places that I used bomb hovers or recoil flips over bombchu hovers or recoil flips. In the new route, we have 9 extra bombchus for the PF->GBT portion, so I'm proposing that we use those to save time where time was lost in the old route due to bombchu constraints. The new route would, with the improvements I listed, look something like this (from Woodfall complete to STT) Finish Woodfall Temple, Warp to CT, buy 20 chus (2B) (20C) (0R) Exit via WCT, slide to grass near cliff, get 4 bomb drops, kill bird for 200R and slide into Milk Road (19B) (200R) ISG slide to rock, pull out bomb while ESSing, hover in corner next to rock to Ranch, Slide to Houses, Get Bottle (16B) (17C) Warp to Great Bay, get hookshot, get 2 Eggs (hookshot room and first recoil flip) (15B) (13C) Warp to North Bay, Deposit Eggs, Go back for last 2 eggs (OoB and second recoil Flip) (12B 8C) Warp to North Bay, Do Pinnacle Rock, get NWBN Go to GBT, get bomb drop from pot near turtle (17B) Finish GBT, get bomb drop from pot again (18B) (1C) Warp to Clock Town, buy 20 Chus, warp to Ikana (18B) (20C) (120R) Slide to STT, Finish Temple (0B) (0C) Get 50R from guay and warp to Clock Town (170R) We have 30 extra rupees, but that can't be helped and it doesn't really matter. If anyone can find any holes/improvements/etc. feel free to add them.

Sweetnes! ^^ Since it has SS- speed this will come out faster even if we only have one turn during the slide. ^^ @Azorae Like MrGrunz said we have established that woodfall in one go is faster. The only uncertainty we have at the moment is if we should do SHT --> STT or STT --> SHT. Both have their pros and their comes and they come out about even... Edit: Let me study your new post real quick...

The route I posted above reflects the fact that we're doing Woodfall first and in one go. I'm not arguing for doing Woodfall in two pieces; rather I'm proposing the route we would take if we had the extra chus from not splitting Woodfall. I'm pretty sure it's nine, but if MrGrunz sees an extra one to use, he can feel free to add it in. As for STT vs SHT, SHT first would still leave us 20R short, and those rupees would still need to come between buying explosives for SHT and buying explosives for STT. This would, just like the 50R problem we had before, require either 2 bank conversations or a rather long detour.

Yeah but since we have 10 chus left we only have to get 10r extra to buy 10 more chus. And 10r shouldn't be to hard to come by. We discussed all of this on the last page for a few posts. Did you overlook it? SHT --> STT would mean: + 4 seconds less at twinmold battle + ~10 seconds less for not getting the 50r STT --> SHT + 10 seconds from shorter hover times through extra chus + 1-2 seconds from not getting the 10r So it's both very close together.
