Super R-Type might be fun. You could do a pacifist run to make it more difficult.

Would someone be interessted in a NBA Jam run? 3 pts shots are pretty easy to pull off with lck manipulation and teams are pretty easy to beat. We could put fastest timer speed per period and hardest mode. Edit: All im wondering is, what would be the goal?

Can you set it so there's one minute quarters? If not, pick a game where you can. A fun thing to do would be have the final score be 12-0. Highest score would be lame... HE SHOOTS HE SCORES! HE SHOOTS HE SCORES! and so on. Just score a long-distance 3-point shot at the end. Or dunk.

Sort of. You put the timer at very fast. So its almost like 1 minute.

Why 12? I though something more like 120.

I think it would be difficult for the run to be accepted... I can pull off 120 pts per game easy, with a low (if any) score for the opponents, thus how would a TAS differ? You could always see if there would be an acceptance for showing off all those crazy "IS IT THE SHOES?! slam dunks/backboard-breaking stunts (love those things) by doing a concept demo or something.

Well, I was thinking you would put in one shot at the end of each quarter.

I don't know... One shot seems boring. What will i do? Spin the ball on my finger, like the Harlem Globetrotters? IMO just making an unbelievable match with passes followed by slam dunks, breaking boards and keep the "He's on fire" mode on could be interesting.. All done in hard mode of course. Edit: Maybe we could put one 3 pointer at the very end of each quarter.

Instead of a "regular" 3-pointer, why not put in a full court hail-mary? No one ever gets those suckers XD

BTW i was talking about NBA Jam Tournament Edition on the SNES :P since there are plenty of NBA Jams on plenty of consoles. In the option menu maybe we should add the Powerup Icons, the Juice Mode and the hotspots. That would IMO make it much more entertaining.

Ha. IIRC, the consensus on Doom is that it's best left unsayed on SNES. There are runs of the PC version that are more or less TASes.

Games that never being a TAS (I also write my own ideas): #1: Axelay (a 100% kills-TAS will work) #2: Battletoads & Double Dragon - The Ultimate Team #3: F-Zero #4: Mortal Kombat 3 #5: Street Fighter II Turbo - Hyper Fighting #6: Super Double Dragon #7: Super Mario World (A 2-player TAS and a any %-TAS) #8: Super Star Wars #9: Super Star Wars - The Empire Strikes Back #10: Super Star Wars - Return of the Jedi #11: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles IV - Turtles in Time (A 2-player TAS) #12: Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles - Tournament Fighters #13: Tetris & Dr Mario (A maximum points-TAS) #14: Timon & Pumbaa's Jungle Games (A maximum points-TAS) #15: Toy Story Good Luck from me, NDS_Emil

Re #7: Super Mario world has an any% TAS. And the 2-player idea has been tossed around but ultimately there is no difference between the characters, and the added fadeout for character switches, and extra character movemement in the overworld would only make things slower. (even if going for 100%)

A any % run means that you run though the worlds with the minimum number of exits and defeat all the koopalings.

Wow, you really can't use search function, huh. >_> http://tasvideos.org/forum/t/1711 Also, Axelay 100% kills is impossible due to exceptionally wide horizontal panning. Not to mention that it will generally be boring due to how slow and easy the game is.

#11: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles IV - Turtles in Time (A 2-player TAS)
This would be awesome to see. I mean, the current run is awesome enough, but this would p0wn.
Taking over the world, one game at a time. Currently TASing: Nothing

Luigi is different in the Game Boy Advance version. So if you think a Luigi run would be fun...

Good thing this is a thread about fun GBA runs...?

You keep using "any %"... I do not think it means what you think it means.

That would pretty much amount to a 100% minus the Star world and a few extra levels.

jeez, the guy was just trying to give an alternative idea for a 2-player mario world run. though this topic is already kind of...demanding, has anybody given thought to Super Widget or HyperZone? Those are two games I liked as a kid that most people don't know of - HyperZone is mostly a rail shooter though, so the only speedrunning part would be boss battles, I guess. Super Widget is a platformer with surprisingly good music, and is much better than its NES prequel (or so I think)...which already has a TAS on the site.
