I suppose you should cancel your other run if this is improved that much.

I had never played or watched this game until this run. All I can say is Holy borrowed music from Batman and borrowed sound effects from Blaster Master! Way to recycle, Sunsoft. Anyway, the game was entertaining. The only possible mistake I could spot was on the third boss (and possibly others), your last shot was fired far away from the boss. It may save a little time to fire the last shot up close, so the traveling time of the bullet / missle is minimized. But, as I've said, I haven't played this game myself, so I may very well be wrong here. Nevertheless, the run is still good, good enough to be published, I feel.

Later I'll compare this with my WIP which completes level 1. If you're faster and I can't see any room for improvement, then I'll vote yes. Otherwise, I'll vote no and hurry up with my improved version :P

After level 1, I am 45 frames faster than you. However, it's interesting to note that I gained 43 of those 45 frames on the level portion. I only gained 2 frames on the boss. Maybe now I'll be motivated to finish this movie. Too bad that's a rare commodity in my life at the moment :P

Actually Blaster Master came after Journey to Sirius, so in that case Blaster Master must have borrowed sound effects from Journey to Sirius. Batman came before Jorney to Sirius though.

I was just going by the copyrights on the respective title screens. Blaster Master is 1988, Batman is 1989, and Journey to Silius is 1990.

Hmm.. Strange. I watched some faqs at www.gamefaqs.com saying what I stated above. I don't really care. But I still think Journey to sirius is older than Blaster master. :D
