Fabian, just download v1.51. It's really not much of a deal, and you can delete it after watching anyway. The last SM-speedruns I did on v1.43 are the 0:39 SS any% and the 1:07 SS 100% currently available on my site (though I might update it with the 0:59 one someday). And I have more news: Being a bit frustrated about the last 0:38 run which missed 0:37 very closely, I just gave it another go, and finally managed the damn 0:37, which this time is a high one (37,82). Super Metroid - any% speedrun in 0:37 (unassisted, single-segmented) (Recorded on Snes9x v1.51) This is a somewhat cleaner version with the 2 major errors of the previous run fixed. Although it has another major screw up (I had to retry the Lower Norfair Pillar shinespark 3 times), it was still enough to hold 0:37 due to time savings in other rooms. Also Ridley was managed much better this time, despite the nearly same conditions before the fight. Now I'm satisfied with the result, so this will be the last any% run for now. Enjoy it!

I'm not remotely close to the skill levels that most of the rest of you have - I never really got the hang of mock-balling, for example. But I tried my hand at an any% run today and got 0:58 (and 40% item pickup). My goal was to break 1 hour, so I'm happy with that. My major mistakes/omissions: * Well, obviously I didn't skip Spore Spawn. * I grabbed the Norfair reserve tank, since yesterday's attempt had me die to the Golden Torizo and it was the only extra energy supply remotely on my route. * I tried to grab the energy tank in the turtle room in Maridia, before discovering that the turtle doesn't actually get you high enough to grab it; oops. * I didn't even try the Zebetite skip. Additionally, there were plenty of missed shots, missed jumps, unnecessary damage, and unnecessary killing of enemies. Overall I got something like 85 missiles, 15 super missiles, 10 power bombs, and six energy tanks. I skipped the grappling beam; Draygon went down pretty easily without it and I didn't need it otherwise. Turns out all I needed to do differently for Golden Torizo was pick up the Plasma Beam; he's cake with it and a pain without it. Ridley was a bit tricky, but he calms way down if you drop the occasional power bomb in the middle of the room. The Mother Brain fight was damn-near choreographed - I knocked her out of her tank with my last super missile, and had 34 health left after she used her Plot Beam once. :) Route: morph -> missile -> Torizo -> bomb -> Spore Spawn -> super missile -> charge beam -> spazer -> Kraid -> varia -> hi-jump -> speed booster -> wave beam -> ice beam -> power bombs -> Phantoon -> gravity -> Botwoon -> Draygon -> space jump -> plasma -> Golden Torizo -> screw attack -> Ridley -> Mother Brain

Big news: I finally managed to perform my first ever RBO run in unassisted conditions! Recorded in 9 segments on Snes9x v1.51 with a pretty good completion time of a low 1:15. Get more details and the smv bundle packed in one .zip-file here: http://forum.metroid2002.com/index.php/topic,7824.msg237462.html#msg237462 Enjoy the run!

My best time is 1:00 with 100% and i was not using an emulator, it was on the old Snes. I didn't have a computer and was on a Lan House just watching some videos on Youtube, so i found the video of Red Scarlet and all that tricks and shortcuts were new to me. I memorized his route and his tricks and trained a lot to do the same way. I did it, but not so fast. I was satisfied since my old record was 1:32 with 100%, but now with all these tricks discovered by the TASes, i think i can improve my record, but i'd like to do it on an old Snes. Unfortunately i have the original game, but don't have a Snes anymore.
