On world 1-2, after the middle ring in the area with the helicopter bubble, you can go right instead of left at the first junction-- it's much faster if you hit your head on the ceiling jumping to the right and it gives an extra boost. Edit: I meant helicopter not train

Yoshi's Island (V1.1) (U). You need to use the WIP of snes9x 1.43. It desyncs at that same spot in the newer version.

To me, it didn't desync in Bowser's Castle, it just ended. Did you actually fight the final boss? Or did you stop there intentionally?

well so far i've watched up to 3-6 and hav'nt seen any noticeable errors (at least not to me) however the whole constant jumping thing is really starting to get annoying lol. any reason why you did it?

yup desynched for me in the last castle in the side scrolling area. after all that i'm really not gonna redownload the movie file and fast foward for 20 min to get to the last castle again. i thought the run was great with some of the boss fights being very cool to watch. however 2 things stood out to me. 1.) due to the long length, in addition to the single file run, mabye there should be a segmented 1-world-per-smv-file type .zip avaliable so people can just view the run through certian parts. 2.) constant jumping (to me) made the run a lot more less enjoyable as after the first 10 000 yoshi jump noises i started thinking (f**k this is annoying). i know your not gonna redo the whole run but this was perhaps the worst part of the run IMO. your playing was next to flawless as i did'nt notice even any minor mistakes.

Just check 'open read only' and load the save states I included with the post to jump to the position in the movie.

Why do you sometimes enter doors on the far side?

I'm a sucker for aesthetics, so I didn't mind the jumping at all. I thought the run was very enjoyable.

I'll admit I had my head up my ass a few times making this movie, and I took a few unnecessary liberties such as this. The first world 1 to 5 run I did was 114 seconds slower...I had redone the entire thing from scratch since and only recently discovered how to prevent so much substantial acceleration loss when making eggs/spitting out enemies at the beginning of world 6 (simply don't hold left/right when doing it). Because of these obvious discrepancies, the movie is still very erroneous and could probably be improved by half a minute at the least just from simple corrections. edit: for instance, in 5-3 in the ski-lifts area, I unnecessarily used the purple block to reach the ledge when I could have just as easily floated over to it; could've saved a whole second there.

Great movie :D Love this game also, so cute :D Does it really goes faster when jumping all the time?

I really like it so far. Also I think all the jumping makes it look more impressive. (I can believe that it's faster in this game, sure looks like it to me.)

I think jumping is only faster when you're on slopes, though I haven't done any proper tests.

I'm working on a new run which makes use of more eggs when they help save time (since I had discovered how to make eggs and spit out enemies much quicker). I'm thinking of using the 2-1 warp glitch mentioned a few pages back to skip the long autoscrolling section. I fucking HATE autoscrolling levels. So that'll be around 80 seconds saved. Also, the collision with the piranha plant in world 3-8 (piranha castle) can be easily avoided with a few extra hits to an egg block and...the crab in 3-4 can be destroyed with three consecutive eggs. I'll try to grab more coins and avoid flowers, red coins, and stars whenever possible...for every item avoided, a frame is saved. It won't be the highest priority. Jumping is only faster on slopes and at the beginning of each level for quicker acceleration...but since there are some levels with a lot of slopes and platforms there will still be a good helping of jumps. progress so far recorded with snes9x WIP and v1.0 (U) of the rom edit: finished world 1...10 seconds faster!

Absolutely amazing! As much as I loved the previous run, this looks much better. I just loved all the egg tricks and going over the screen in 1-4. I hope you have the energy to complete this one, because if the quality doesn't decrese during the run, this is well worth submitting.
