Yeah. I spat a crutial spoiler about the movie a several minutes ago, but decided to remove it because. . .and it pains me to say this. . .Food is right. It's not like telling someone Darth Vader's "big secret" from The Empire Strikes Back. Who Framed Roger Rabbit? is a little more obscure than that.(And hasn't been really publicized or anything since 1988, aside from a seemingly unnoticed DVD release.)

Great job there, Tool. Looks like the game can have, possibly, a sub-8 minute completion there. A lot less items seemed to be needed than I thought as well...so far. Someone's going to have to defeat Judge Doom first and then we can discard needed items.

Back on topic: I'll give a try to that game. I'll try getting a Whistle from the shop (or is there a place close to the route that has a Whistle?), I have an idea.

I somehow neglected to mention that this speed run is done insanely fast. I honestly didn't realize just how easy it was to complete the game if you know exactly where everything is at any given time. Superb job on dodging the Toon Patrol every time they popped up.(Which does indeed seem like every minute on the minute. . .) Half the finished movie is probably going to be beating the stuffing out of Doom, though. . . As mentioned, he's one tough sonovagun.

I did a test run of my own, I just got the Spring Shoes. I take the wallet in front of the office because I have an idea for later. Discovered some tricks here and there. Boom.

Well, not like it's actually useful, but with the help of the Spring Shoes, I replicated the glitch I did to make Doom go away. He does go back eventually, but have fun playing around with your new-found freedom. =D http://www.webpost.net/ri/rickglitchvids/wfrr_doomglitch.fcm

There it went. Let's see... *watches the video* ...huh. That's a weird one. I can't see any real uses for it, myself...but still. Interesting find.

DJFozz, thats interesting that in your run the items are in exactly the same place as in mine... i'm wondering if the only items that are random are the will and things for sale in the store. It looks like you handled the crowbar and picked up items much more smoothly than i did :)

Another thing: it seems that everything I start a game, the first item available in the store is the Dynamite. Then, the Whistle. I still don't know what influences the item rotation... Time? Number of times in and out of a building? Items picked up? You have to buy the available item 10 times? I dunno...

I've been having the same problem too lately of only getting the dynamite in the store, but i swear once i got the whistle or crowbar first. i dont know why. oh, and all the items change from game to game. i think the arrangement of items i happened to get for my run seems like a good one since the wills are in the caves closest to the road. some caves you would have to hike a long way to get to otherwise

At the title screen at the beginning, did you press start on the first frame possible? (i.e. 534)?

I believe so.. or are you saying that pushing start at the earliest possible time always results in that item arrangement? after fooling around i think the shop items are on a timer, and it doesnt matter how many items you got, how many times you went in and out of doors, or how many steps youve taken. i went and stood outside of the store for almost 3:00 (only ducking inside when the toon patrol came) and finally got the whistle. this timer also runs when youre in buildings - i stood on the sidewalk screen in front of the store for the same amount of time and got the whistle that way too. so this wouldnt be useful in a run i dont think unless the items were laid out such that they are nearer to the store than benny.

For me the earliest frame to press start is 535, and doing that several times produced different item placements each time.

Does that mean that Reset doesn't reset the random seed and you need to press Power at the beginning of the movie to get the same results as the first time?

I can't figure the randomization out, maybe someone with a better knowledge of those things can take a crack at it anyway, heres the frame counts for the first store's items: 9184 - whistle 17730 - flashlight 25967 - crowbar 33895 - cigar 42132 - cheese 50369 - rose 58605 - spring shoes 66842 - back to dynamite

Say, just out of curiousity, do you think it would be quicker to pick up the wallet and buy the dynamite at the store instead of picking it up? Just a suggestion.

anythings worth a try heres some rough frame counts for store #2 - for some reason they're a little different from the other store cigar cheese ~9400 rose ~17600 shoes ~25900 dynamite ~34000 whistle ~42000 flashlight crowbar cigar

So on what frame did you start the game to get the shop to start at the Cigar? If you noticed, it's the same loop, but it simply started with another item in the list. If it's only a One frame matter to get another store, we should manipulate that to get the most conveniant item first. Like the Whistle to get Benny earlier, or another item a bit off-course.

sorry, i wasn't clear - store #2 is the one down near benny that's locked, and store #1 is the one near valiant's office. so store 1 always starts with the dynamite, and store 2 always with the cigar.

Oh ok! When I get back home I'll try to change the stores' items' order, by pressing start later at the title screen.
