http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/404916741/Henrik%20-%20Goldeneye%20007%20-%20Bunker%201%20-%2054.m64 Lol totally forgot i could use microstorage.
i made a ge tas too, i'll upload it today maybe , i found a small possible time saver u might not know.
Which level?
i would rather see u go for ingame time
This will not be a primary goal this time for 2 reasons: 1. It makes no diffrence(yet). 53 is probably still out of reach and only other level where cinema might make a minor diffrence is Silo. 2. You can't even see the end time when watching the full run. Only the speedrunning community cares about end time and this run aims to reach the general population. Also i want to obsolete old movie by as much as possible which is why i'm also ending egypt as soon as the last headshot lands on Baron.

Depot - 007 Max Stats (aka. DLTK) in 0:55: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WmLdzpIWEE8 This run is somewhat sloppy, but I made this mostly to demonstrate the hyperwidescreen (cinema+16:9). I hope I got the resolution right... you can see a lot more but the video is kinda flat, so it would be best if you'd watch this on two widescreen monitors :P So I'm not sure this resolution would have been better than cinema... maybe in the future when we have insane widescreen monitors. I managed to warp the locked door at the end, probably because I was using the insane widescreen. Earlier it had only been warped in Turbo mode I think. It's worth trying in your run too Wyster, it can save a second or two if done properly. I forgot to include the trainshot here, so I only saved half a second. I didn't want to go back and redo the warp because it seemed kinda hard to do. Now all the major time saving levels on DLTK have been TASed, so the total DLTK time is just 35:58.

Wow awesome, i hadn't even thought about the new possibilities laggier video modes might provide.Have you tried slap-warping the bars on B2? (skipping the pause?) I just hope Cinema is laggy enough... Maybe the glassdoor-warp on Aztec is possible now xD

Yeah, I hadn't thought of such possibilities much either, it wasn't until I got to the end that I thought I could try warping that door since I remembered Simon doing that in Turbo mode. Just a few tries and it went through. I think you warped the door on Aztec in one of your Turbo TASes, so it should be possible too, since the Depot door was. Same with the Bunker, I guess.

I didn't warp the aztec glass on turbo, i killed jaws. Tested bunker a bit too and couldn't even get close to working. (though i couldnt get depot working either :P) Lol i noticed on Silo i somehow gained 57 frames up to first pause. I know 31 frames came from a better warp to 1st room but appareantly another 26 by simply going up stairs and pausing :p I guess 1:06 will be cake, maybe even 1:05 can be done.

Oh, ok, I remembered wrong. You did warp the glass, but you opened it before :P But yeah, it's worth trying in Turbo+cinema+16:9+remoteminehandwarp to determine if it's even possible to warp it without opening it. The depot warp seemed pretty hard to do. I did like 500 attempts after my first try and I didn't succeed... but next day I succeeded after only a few tries again. You gained frames on Silo without waiting cinema?

Yeah, cinema don't matter until later in the level.

about the bunker run... couldn't you have used the TVs to get some more boosts at the end? it probably wouldn't have mattered much in this run though, it would have only saved a tenth or two. i might have time to make a vid of this tomorrow.

Me and Simon tested that during last run and you can't get boosts from TV's. (unless shooting them with 4 bullets in midair or something which will probably loose more time than it gains)

This is turning out incredibly! Facility and Bunker were so entertaining I watched them multiple times.

Bunker looks great! I'm looking forward to seeing how much time you end up saving over the published run.

Depot - Agent 0:23 In addition to the door warp at the end, I also got a boost by attracting a guard at the intro. This is 2 seconds faster than the previous TAS record, which is also the WR today, thanks to 2:3. I had some trouble getting 0:23, I thought it would be cake in TAS because the warp should save a lot. I improved the ending until I got only two frames from 23, but I couldn't improve it anymore, but I optimized the warp and saved 0.3s, so the final time of this is 23.616. I had a two frames faster ending, but this ending was better. This is my only TAS WR in Goldeneye, if 007 Max Settings (aka DLTK) isn't counted, which isn't an official difficulty.

Urgh it appears i've made a super-annoying minor/major mistake on Silo. I had worked hard and TAS'd all the way to the DAT and the run was awesome(2 full seconds ahead of old run) when i noticed i lost quite a bit of time on my pause compared to old run(23 frames). Obviously the only way this could happen was if something went wrong with my earlier quickpauses. And indeed, it appears that i made my second quickpause a few frames too early which made it useless... So i'm not sure exactly how much time i'd loose in total on this mistake, there are 2 more pauses though the effect of quickpausing is reduced on each pause. It could prove to be significant and make 1:05 impossible so the only way to go seems to be redoing all the way from the quickpauses.....

Oh that's annoying :/ but weren't you aiming mostly for entertainment, so 1:06 would still be as awesome as 1:05, because the slower pauses aren't noticeable. But at least now you know to be more careful with the pauses in the future.

Well the slower pauses are slightly noticable, and besides, i still want to achieve as good end times as i can. The only reasons to sacrifice end time would be that it requires cinema watching or a big entertainment tradeoff. Doing it because of a mistake is just lazy :p I already started the redo process and it's much faster progress this time, so maybe it's not so bad after all. Btw, have you tested if Depot warp can be done with only cinema? And how much would it save on 00A?

I haven't tried in cinema. I don't like to waste energy on inconsistent things unless I do a TAS. I might try a little though... and in the default 4:3 too.

ROFL, I managed to do the warp in 4:3, so the cinema and 16:9 was actually no use at all :P It only took 5 minute to do also, I think I'm getting the hang of this. I just align myself approximately where I was in my previous videos and make the warp... when it doesn't go through, I load the state and turn the analog stick one degree at a time to the right until it warps.

Pretty annoying also though, because maybe this run could have been 22 if i hadn't used cinema and 16:9...

Does it really make a diffrence? I haven't noticed any time loss at all by using cinema compared to full. So even if there's a larger diffrence with 16:9 + cinema it shouldn't be a full second and definately not on such a short level. So does this affect 00A anything? Is 41 possible?

Yeah, dunno... I think because the framerate is worse, it should make the times worse. I at least managed to get better times more easily when using lookdown on my 23, but somehow you get insane times without it.
So even if there's a larger diffrence with 16:9 + cinema it shouldn't be a full second and definately not on such a short level.
Lol, I guess so... but the cinema+16:9 is like 3 times the size/width of full screen, so I thought it might cause a lot of timeloss.

Yes, I think it can save 1 second, the path seems to be shorter. Btw, I added a trainshot to the DLTK depot I made earlier and improved the time by 1 second (54). I won't post a vid of that though, it's not a big improvement/difference... I was gonna make a vid where I TASed that live to show how I TAS, but the recording screwed up :P >_<

What's going on Wyster, was it too annoying to start over silo? It would have been awesome even if you didn't go back to fix that little problem

Well actually i've been pretty busy with school. I ran into alot of minor annoying problems after 2nd scientist room that makes it super duper difficult(impossible?) to recreate that section as well as last time. It's all extremely dependent on how much lag there is and other randomness, and when using correct quickpauses everything changes(ultimately loosing time). I also noticed that NOT warping out of 2nd scientist room was faster than warping lol. Looks bad though so i'm not gonna do that. Also on my newer attempts the KF7 comes out later after warping making stuff look bad urgh... Sure it would be easy just finish this and get a fast time but i've held super high quality on both speed and aesthetics so far and i can't accept anything that doesn't look just right. It's prolly gonna be a while before i work on this again so here's the progress so far: First attempt(with wrong quickpause) http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/97958121/Henrik%20-%20Goldeneye%20007%20-%20Silo8%20-%20DAT%202287.m64 One of my redo attempts(correct quickpause) http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/387992810/Henrik%20-%20Goldeneye%20007%20-%20Silo10%20-%201817%20warp.m64
