Very nice WIP. One possible improvement, however: it is possible to do a beak buster through the grating above the fifth Jinjo, similar to the trick used to get up to the crane with the Shock Spring Pad. This may be faster as it allows instant access to the notes above without swimming out and using the crate.
Thanks for the trick, it actually works! I think that room is full of water and that trick wont work but I was wrong =)

wow more awesomeness :) yeah the box kill really surprised me I was wondering one thing when dropping from the ship's chimney you need to break your fall to avoid falling damage, is it possible to combine the window-breaking move with that action? or is banjo already in an unstoppable fall at that point? (or does he simply not reach it :P) keep up the great work :D

Yes, fall is too long. I do that "window-breaking move" last frame possible

And hey, if Sami's gotten everything in the first 8 worlds, that means anyone could start testing Grunty's Furnace Fun after the end of Sami's video, right?

um. I haven't watched it yet but if you are talking about what i think you are talking about with the falling thing... isn't there a ladder you can touch near the last possible frame to cancel the fall damage? It seems like aiming for the ladder would be quicker than doing a "rat-a-tat rap" (lol window breaking move) mid-fall.

A possibility is the beak buster (or for the n00bs here: "the switch pressing move") invincibility glitch; which seems to make you invincible from anything. (this, I think, is a well known glitch, where you beak bust, and while you're flipping up, you can fall from an infinite height and not get hurt, you are invincible from enemy attacks, and the "magnetised" grunty attack in the final battle. I don't think I've seen this glitch abused at all this run. One improvement I saw was maybe only 10 frames, but you broke a door, started a talon trot, and went inside. then took about three steps before free falling. It would be a lot faster, I think to just traverse the short distance with a forward roll or something. But on the plus side, I think your planning is excellent. I have not seen any better planning in any other TAS. Unrelated, here is an excerpt from the PROSH: SAGITTARIUS: Metastatic lung cancer is not funny. Your face is funny. In a cruel twist you will get metastatic lung cancer. Everyone will laugh, but rest-assured this is because of your face.

^ I was thinking about suggesting beak buster invulnerability before but I haven't seen the WIP yet so I'm still unsure whether Sami is making up a lot of ground horizontally or what. The beak buster invulnerability makes you fall straight down more or less and while I use it from the smokestacks in my runs on console, I'm not exactly sure what should be used here (at least, not until I see the run). I know it's definitely better in Click Clock Wood at the top of the tree and is good in Mad Monster Mansion's church on console, but this area is debatable. Edit: He has abused it in the past, for example in MMM against the Tee Hee ghosts, but not as a falling aid.

about the ladder stuff earlier: whoops. Watched it now and I realize it's not where I thought. But yeah, Sami, you should probably redo that part if it saves more than a second. And I wanted to say: Amazing damage boosting all throughout RBB. For those who haven't seen the wip yet, I am uploading the encode now so you can at least see the preliminary version of the level. I'll post back in like 2 hours.

I get trought the second fan without taking a damage! but not the first...that is because in second fan, i get there in a different angle than the first one and blades positions is different. I tried to do that in first one too but its too hard and i cant do it. Banjo takes a hit when he is even hit the blade :s So new timesaver...sadly i cant do it in both fans :(

Thanks for the vid, bkDJ. :) Yeah, I can confirm that beak buster invulnerability from the top of that smokestack is slower so no worries there. I noticed the other room where you estimated 10 frames could be saved but apart from that and the pink jinjo trick at the end, I couldn't really see anything needing improvement. The new fan timesaver sounds nice though.

Guh...buh.. Sami... you... Man.... I remember playing RBB and - yeah I reckon this is going to be the best TAS on the site for a while just because of this level... edit: then i saw the WIP of mr_roberts_z Mario 64 run... ah well still very very impressive Sami.

I have to say I'm looking forward to CCW more than anything else on this site right now.

CCW has to be the most complex world in this game. It'll be interesting to see how much time will be saved via TASing.

I was hoping if I could get a link to a full encode of the game till the most recent progress. I don't mind the file size as long as the quality comes out as close to perfect (got cable). The mkv of sm64 bkdj once posted was awesome and I'm hoping I can get something similar, if not possible better. (I haven't checked the latest links, so if there is one meeting my requirements, I'd appreciate it if someone posted it) Then again I thought the TAS is near its end, but I couldn't wait any longer so if an encode isn't possible I'd like the m64, again if possible. (No rushing here, and I think it's better that I didn't wait, because maybe I notice something interesting or so, which I'm not saying I will, but you know, just for the sake of chances) I hate it that this message sounds demanding, self-centered and who knows what else, call it whatever you want, but I think such an encode would be multi-beneficial.

I use vlc and a small window appears and when I maximize the window the resolution drops considerably. I thought a higher quality could be accomplished but nevertheless thx

Hi BrianRuleZ: The above link (this) is always up to date on my encodes for this game. And vlc kinda sucks, try mpc+cccp. And to onReload about the 5th jinjo pause: Banjo doesn't collect the jiggy until the jinjo has disappeared, whether he has to dance (on land) or not. You can see this in almost every level. Situation was similar in Clanker's Cavern, too.

very nice work, sami question though: why the long pause after getting the jinjo jiggy towards the end? i know you didn't want to surface too early and have banjo do his set of bows (for getting all 10 jiggies) but it seemed like you were down there awhile

I'm fairly certain that he couldn't move at all.
