I hate to nag, but 4050/4000 is a bit too obviously suboptimal. I would recommend restarting from before the skewers and skipping that blue crystal right before the heart. It will look much better, and the platform at the top of the tower will probably be in a better position. Other than that, your work is much higher quality than previously. Make sure to pay attention to points you could be scoring while waiting. (Secret room was a bit obvious that you should be killing things on the bottom of the level while riding around the top. You did better in Sky Room.) Good quality overall, just pay attention to level routing a bit more.
I think skipping anything would eliminate the purpose of a 100% run... >.> Some levels actually have more points than what they should.

He already skipped 50 points in Heavy Room if I recall correctly, but it's easily unnoticeable. The game has no recognition system that you ever got 50 points over the 'maximum criteria', so I am quite vehement that it should not be in the criteria. Also, by your system of 'maximum score per level', we would have to kill numerous temporary enemies in every level, and spend more time grabbing things in water levels. On top of that, maximizing the amount of points in water/sky levels would probably force us to backtrack or slow down considerably. If you are saying maximum score on 'non-bomber device' levels, you are getting pretty arbitrary. One step more extreme, in order to get maximum score on Planet 1 Endol, we need (I think) 6 health. So, we would have to revisit him after gathering 400 crystals. The game has a fairly set definition of 100%, it unlocks a secret world, then it unlocks Millian's treasure hunt (which may be worth a debate of inclusion.) EDIT: While I'm at it, I might as well keep you all updated. I'm currently on the second to last level of World 3. I may upload the other half of World 3 within the week. =) Unfortunately World 3 stays split in 2 parts because it runs about 12 minutes.

Hm...I guess I don't know this game too well anymore. I think the last time I played it was about 8 years ago. x.x

I assume that "him" is the planet? But yeah, your right, I should go back and redo that part, skip 1 crystal and possibly 1 enemy is my plan.

You can't skip an enemy... they're worth 100 and they'll set you under a 5, with the exception of marine/jet/slider levels.

Him being the creature on the planet which will also have to be revisited.

Remember enemies that explode/kill themselves are sometimes worth extra points. (Daggers etc.) Move Stone is finished, 81 seconds of pushing blocks. <.< I'll make it my goal to kill Bolban tomorrow and post the video....and do some homework. xD

I'm interested in seeing how you did Move Stone, if you got away with not killing the towers or how many did you have to kill. In a normal run I only found one that isn't going to definitely hit you without going out of the way to avoid fireballs. Edit: I just recorded the segment with Heaven Sky in it and fighting the boss something weird happened: he didn't guard himself one time. He just sat there with his arms open and let me shoot him until he died. Is this a factor that can be manipulated or did I just get really lucky?

I should have the rest of world 3 up tonight or tomorrow for sure. I've just been lazy, it's finished.

Ah, alright. Should be a good watch. At least it's not just one world at a time. :3

Just got done. =p http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XNeyTnt3s6U Input file with same progress: http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/708806835/Begin%20Hopper%20Land.m64 Progress will probably continue to be uploaded one world at a time. This run is in the home stretch now. The run is currently at 32 minutes and 61k rerecords. I've been doing this for too long. xD Regarding World 4: I get to showcase my favorite find of the run in Storm Valley. There's a few fairly linear levels that should let me progress quickly. The boss in Heaven Sky is going to be a bit annoying, as I'm not exactly sure what criteria kills him the quickest, and I want to make sure it looks clean. I have a cool, optimal strategy planned for Natia now too. World 3 clocked in at an unfortunate 12 minutes, World 4 should be around 9-10 I'm guessing. Hopefully World 5 and credits fit in one video. I digress. Enjoy! Will I meet my self-imposed April 1 deadline? I doubt it. I may come close though. EDIT: Bolban smokes too much weed. LOLOLOL

More like he's smoking them THEN eating them. O_o But it looks like progress is starting to pick up from my view. No doubt that riding on the rabbit will be the highlight of the entire run. :) Plus, your route on Hard Coaster was the EXACT route I was thinking of. :P Progress: Real slow. Just redid the entire Sky Room, now I gotta think of a route for the next levels. :/

Hm, interesting Any% WIP. Should make for a fairly entertaining TAS.

Wish I could help, but I haven't played this game in such a long time I don't know where anything is or how it should be gotten. No way I'd be any help on a 100% route, much less an Any% route.

A few notes as I go on. I'm trying to do a couple levels a week. Hopper Land: It is possible, but somewhat difficult to do an angled jump on the cliff a ways left from the exit. This requires only one wall jump to beat the level. Junfalls: It is unnecessary to bomb either of the platforms. Jump at the higher one and drop a bomb and you will grab it. From there you can jump up the slope of the waterfall. Midterm Tuesday, hoping to start Cool Cave Wednesday.

I actually finished my run today, and I'll be writing up comments the next day or so I can submit it. Thanks a bunch for all of your help.

Oh awesome. I really hope my negligence to finish my run in a timely manner didn't detract from any technical tricks in the later levels. I'll be sure to check it out when/assuming it gets posted.

I didn't get the no bombing the blocks in Junfalls. However I got the Storm Valley shortcut as well as an Eye Snake full of shortcuts and Heaven Sky without the boss ever guarding himself. They all look clean, though you may have better routes for a couple (maybe Mirror Room?). Edit: For any of you that also visit SDA on a regular basis, my run is in verification and would be thankful for any of you that help out with that =)

I'm merely wondering if there's been any progress on the 100% TAS.

Yeah, I just did the fastest way out of Red Cave, now I'm going back there to do the 100% part. It may be my hardest level yet, as the items are spreaded out EVERYWHERE!! But I will work on it after school today. ;)

Area 2 COMPLETE! http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/1989138656/BOMBERMAN%20HERO%20%28USA%29.m64 I'm sorry that I still don't know how to upload an AVI. If there are any questions, I can answer them the best I can. ;)

The ending of Sky Room is quite sloppy to get hit there. Your shot at 32200 missed in the lake. I'm not really a fan of skipping free points in the lake to get an exact score. Also, you could have probably cleared 10,000 in the plane level. You seem to take damage a bit too willingly. Taking damage in Dark Wood was fine, but the rest was questionable in that regard. You do some impressive things and then there's just things that hit me in the face. Your routes are pretty solid, just stop with the really mediocre mistakes/choices (to be blunt.)

The plane level, I probably could have gotten more points, but I want to stay in top speed to get through the level fast. Taking damage, Dark Wood was for the greater good, but for other levels: Sky Room: If I had laid a bomb in the air, it would just get destroyed in the air. If I laid a bomb on the ground after I landed, it would take a longer time to kill the enemy. And I probably don't remember, but I swear I tried as many angles as I could before I jumped in the air but it would only destroy three chicks. In the end, I decided to hurt myself by throwing a bomb at the last one after I landed. The Lake: You should know as well as I do that it was a faster way to get to the finish line, and you're probably right that I could have gotten more stuff, but I'm not going to worry about it how it doesn't waste time. Boulder Canyon (or whatever it's called): That was just for entertainment purposes, that doesn't waste time either, same thing goes for the Nitros fight. But all and all, I was quite satisfied with it. But it looks like all your doing is making fun of me.
