Well, the latest version has some sound... but the upper screen is still upside down.

It rests on the conviction that you — by your choices, effort and actions — have made yourself into the kind of person able to deal with reality. It is the conviction — based on the evidence of your own volitional functioning — that you are fundamentally able to succeed in life and, therefore, are deserving of that success." - Onkar Ghate

I know it's only been a few months, I know. But I have to ask. Has anyone heard about any major progress on a DS Emulator as of yet? :3

Yes, here, for example. It's the most up to date DS emulator as of yet. It's not like it's hard to find info on any of the actively developed emulators, quite the contrary. It's even easier than finding a corresponding thread and typing two lines there.

God, I'd love to see a working DS emulator sometime this year, especially with re-recording/movie support. I call dibs on a Trauma Center run ^_^

so the best emulators around are no$gba 2.3c (needs bios) and desmume 0.6.0 then... last one is open-source, and it gives it few points... btw, I still could not dump my own DS firmware and bios =( had to use downloaded one T_T touchscreen does not work corretly for me in no$gba. It registers touch ,for sure ("touch to start" screens work) but position does not seem to be correct =(

-Growl.- I can't find the BIOS Files anywhere..And any links that have them are dead now. I'll just continue to wait until a real working DS Emulator comes around...

We're going to need microphone support for games like Phantom Hourglass.

What would the plan be for microphone support? Insert .wav file here?

i'm thinking a vorbis stream that produces the right result should be used, otherwise flac, to minimize file size for transfer on the internet.

I recently played Super Mario 64 DS on the latest version of No$GBA, and it worked just fine (except for a few transparency issues and slowness). In fact, I completed the game, getting all 150 stars and stuff. So, DS emulation is getting somewhere after all.

150 ? there's 30 new stars in Super Mario 64 DS ? And is No$GBA open source ?

Then unless you convince the author to implement rerecording, I don't think it will be possible.

Just checking on any progress toward a decent functioning DS Emulator. ;3 I tried that no$GBA or whatever it's called. It won't even play the new Pokémon games.

The newest version plays Pokemon Diamond/Pearl well, there's still a few glitches here and there, but it's still "playable".

Do you mean 2.4c, because no it doesn't. I keep getting errors saying to shut if off and reload it. EDIT: Unable to Load Data. Turn off the Power and Reinsert the Game Card.

I took this from a D/P Emulation FAQ: In Options, go to "Emulator Setup", use these settings: Emulation Speed/LCD Refresh: Unlimited MHz-Disaster, 10% Reset/Startup Entrypoint: Start Cartridge directly Video Output: 24bit True Color GBA Mode: VGA (poppy bright) GBA Cartridge Backup Media: Auto NDS Cartridge Backup Media: Flash 512KBytes Solar Sensor Level: Bright Sunlight Sound Output Mode: Digital Mono (fast) Sound Desired Sample Rate: Low (10kHz) (fast) The game card errors are normally from using the wrong Save Type (or "NDS Cartridge Backup Media", if you will.)

Okay. I can play. But none of the Emulation Speeds are doing very well now. EDIT: Not that it's not nice to be able to play one of the new Pokémon Games, but I'm just going to wait for a better DS Emulator that isn't so...Slow.

ideas 1.018b looks decent. Still has a few issues (obviously), especially with audio, but it's playing some random roms I've tried pretty good. Maybe DS TASes aren't very far away....
