Does anyone know who did the Contra BGM remix?

I haven't heard of any SMB3 movie with Contra background music.

or is that non-sequitur(sp?) You can take a gander @ the FMV if you wish... The only movie around here with BGM other than the game's original music is the nesvideos "trailer" (soon to be released near you). It is currently being worked on, and will be ready when it's ready. You can take a look at the thread.

The Super Mario 3 WMV done in 11 minutes by Morimoto had a remix of the Contra music in the background (drowning out the SFX and original BGM), along with some Mortal Kombat techno crap. I was wondering if anyone knew who did that music (It's not Minibosses, NESkimos, nor Mega Driver, and that's what got me curious)..... ----------------- Ten minutes later ----------------- My apologies. The thing is, I downloaded it from Kazaa (And that's what got me interested in collecting Time Attacks and Speedruns, which led me to coming here on a regular basis), and I assumed it was always like that. I just now downloaded the same movie from Arc's site, the Contra BGM isn't there. So, my apologies, I got things mixed-up. Ummm, should I host this version (Even though the only change is the BGM)?

well i personally like to hear the sound because it gives you a better feel for how the game is actually being played. so I would only say BGM in trailers.

Yeah, I hate when people think they have to "improve" on stuff to make it look more "totally extreme". It's bad enough that the video gets so much poorly informed press... y'know...

Try checking out http://www.ocremix.org This site has quite an extensive number of video game remixes.

I watched one Nintendo-related document some time ago. (I downloaded it in April 20th). It was probably recorded from a tv program (there is a "BBC three" logo in the beginning). It contains interviews of several people from Nintendo, including the famous Miyamoto. The document speaks of the history of Nintendo and contains lots of video clips from games for different consoles, including the NES. What disturbed and amazed me a lot, was that the sound effects and musics from the video clips were changed. All NES clips had some primitive pacman-style sound effects played on them, making it sound like the NES games were more primitive than they actually were. I don't understand why.

Because TV producers think all video games sound like Atari 2600 Pac-Man, no matter what they are. That's why.

I haven't seen that version of the video, but a band called "Vomitron" did a heavy-metal version of the Contra theme. Perhaps that's it. Even if not, it's awesome, and I recommend checking it out. Y'know, if you like that sort of thing.

Any idea where I can find it? The only place that seems to have it is Audioscrobbler, and they're closed to new members for right now.

I can't remember the URL of their website, and when I searched I didn't get any better results than you did. If you like, hit me up on AIM and I'll file transfer it to you. My screen name is "diabolus magus". There should be no legal problems sharing this MP3 because it was downloaded from the band's website. EDIT: I forgot that my AIM settings only allow people on my buddy list to IM me. Anyone interested in this file can PM me here on the boards with their email address and I'll send it as an attachment. If you're concerned with such things, I do use an antivirus to scan all incoming and outgoing mail.

Thank you. No need, though. I had some friends help me search high and low . Somehow a url came up. Does Vomitron even have a website? Their MP3.com page is gone.

Well... they had a website. Outside of the few songs they had up on there I've never heard of them, though, so it's possible that it no longer exists. Shame if it's the case, they're pretty talented.
