Well it becomes even hilarious sometimes, but renders the game unplayable… That's why I try to hunt unlocalised versions down every time I can.
If you're familiar with the Engrish, then know: it's many many times worse with Russian. %)
I've got a nice selection of such goofs from Fallout 2, too bad none of you know Russian good enough to really enjoy those mistakes.

Umm... Sanskrit is a dead language because there are no native speakers.
One should make a distinction between dead languages and artificial languages.
Neither of them are spoken natively (as their "mother tongue") by anyone (or at least not by any significant group of people). The difference is that a dead language has been a native language in the past but isn't anymore, while an artificial language has never been a native language and isn't the result of natural linguistic evolution, but it just has been artificially created by someone.
For example latin is a dead language while klingon is an artificial language. I think esperanto is also an artificial language (probably by far the most widespread one).

Yup, for reasons I think I already told you once. Sure I think they are fascinating, but needlessly complex, impractical and waaay too time-consuming to learn.

I only speak english quite well and a very little bit of german...

I would nitpick and say it should be "það gamla" (the old [stuff]) instead of "allt gamalt" (everything old), but that wouldn't be nice, or would it? It's the traditional way of saying because it flows better (don't know the English expression, it means it is easier on the mouth to say it), not because it's more "right". I think...

I can only repeat what my Icelandic teacher (who is also from Iceland) told me. ^_~ But I'll keep that in mind, and Google suggests that "það gamla" is more widely-used, too.

Hello everybody. I don't know if anyone remembers me anymore. I made the first published version of Excitebike a long time ago and have been inactive ever since due to my military service and a lot of other things. I've still had a little time to watch new TA-speedruns and I check this message board approximately once a month. Keep up the good work!
I appreciate everybody who can speak foreign languages.
I can speak: Finnish(native), English, Swedish
I can read: German, Estonian
I know a little: Spanish, Japanese
I want to learn: Chinese(Mandarin) (Planning to move to Beijing for a year)
Fluent in English and Swedish (I'm from Sweden).
I know some Japanese, though I have a pretty limited vocabulary and only know like four kanji. I know most kana by heart though. I hope to be fluent in it one day, I'm hoping to enter a five-year Japanese program on University after the coming summer. Had one year of it in Upper Secondary, and I've also taken a beginner's class in it after graduating, a little for repetition, but also learned new stuff.
I've studied German for four years, though quit doing so three-and-a-half years ago. I could probably understand if someone spoke German, but me talking it would be... bad.
I've also had one year of completely worthless Spanish lessons. Our teacher was -not- good.
And, in the school I went to for class 7 to 9, we had a mandatory class in classical languages. Latin and stuff. I remember, uh, pretty much... nothing of that. A few words, maybe.
And this Thursday I'm beginning to take a University class in Scots-Gaelic.

In any case, is it just me, or are there lots of people here with Japanese as a second/third/... language? Rather interesting... ^^ (you almost could've counted me in there, too - I wanted to learn Japanese in the past, but later on decided not to after all.)
Nah, ma en raagi eesti keelt. But I know some simple things about it.
Sa ei räägi eesti keelt ;) And I don't write or read it very well but I think I'm quite fluent speaking it. And I understand it very well because my mom and sisters still speak it at home.
